Have you ever replaced the belt? That is most likely the reason that it is not picking up like it used to. You are actually supposed to change the belt yearly. Here is the belt you need and the manual which has instructions:
Hi Dee, it's Jack at Dyson.
It sounds like the valve carriage needs to be realigned. This is quick and simple to do - just follow the steps shown in the video below:
I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but if you would like some further guidance from our experts you're welcome to give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
Hi Stephen, it's Jack at Dyson.
DC07 has two filters, a washable pre-motor filter, and a post-motor filter that doesn't need any maintenance. Both filters are engineered to last the lifetime of the machine in normal use, and shouldn't need replacing.
We wouldn't expect a filter to be missing from the machine unless it's previously been removed and not replaced. The washable pre-filter is shown in the video below - it has a yellow plastic outer section, and a blue sponge inner section:
If you're concerned that either of the filters is missing or damaged, you can order a replacement by calling us directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
To replace the. Switch pull the handle out to remove the screws holding the switch cover on. Release the tabs to remove the cover to expose the switches.
This service is hard to explain. Try googling it so you watch a video of how it is done. You can purchase belts and rebuild the clutch with the new belts or you can purchase a new clutch with belts already installed
Hi there are several reasons, motor failing could be one but if it is spinning it will be sucking, look in the short flexible hose for a block, pull out the inspection bend and the double clip unit at the side and check these. Are all you seals in place and not leaking? With the vacuum cleaner in the upright position turn it on is the air being sucked into the hand wand? if it sucks here then blockage is before the diverter which is in the lower part. If the suction is low in the upright positon, did you remove the bin and cyclone and seperate the two? there is likely a build up of dust etc. in the cyclone. There are also pleanty of Youtube video's. If it is all clean and clear borrow a similar unit and swap over the bin/cylone and the various interchangeable parts, finally have you replaced the filters?
There are three things that "stop" (no noise anymore) a DC07 working. I will list them in order of the most common to least common faults.
1) The motor is burnt out. Caused by over filling and not cleaning the filter regularly. You must replace the post motor filter when getting the motor replaced
2) The power cord has failed. This can usually be seen by visually inspecting the cord for damage.
3) The on/off switch has failed.
All of these faults should be repaired by a licensed sparky for safety reasons.

Here is how to do it

This is a good way to stop your motor burning out. I use the lighter white cloth filter rather than the purple hepa filter. It puts less stress on the motor and gives a little more suction at the expence of a tiny bit more dust making it through.
I remove the complete cyclone/bin and hose it down with high hose pressure in all holes until you see no more dirt. Do not do this to the vacuum cleaner! Then dry it for a couple of days making sure it is completely dry before use. This gets rid of pet odour. Replace the post motor filter if this needs doing as it will be blocked.

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
The type of belt mechanism will depend on which model of DC07 you own. If you have a DC07 machine without the brush control feature, the user-replaceable belt is located within the cleaner head:
http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc07/dc07-standard/maintaining-your-dyson-machine/change-the-belt1/belt-fitting-preparation
However, if your DC07 includes the brush control feature (you should see the Carpet/Hard floor dial on the cleaner head), your machine will use a clutch mechanism with belts engineered to last for the lifetime of the machine in normal use.
If you have a DC07 with brush control and would like some help with it, please contact us directly by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your Dyson vacuum, but I'm not sure from your question exactly which part you're having an issue with.
If possible, please reply to provide further details so we can help. Or if you'd prefer, you're welcome to contact our experts directly for assistance by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
the removable drum can be washed. however, you need to make sure it is completely dry before using it again.
How DIY are you? the screws at the top can be removed and the lid lifts off. This allows for better cleaning and drying.
Pull the wand out of the Vac. Need to use a small Torx bit to take out 2 screws hidden behind the wand storage. Once screws are out, there are 4 push-clips which need to be un-latched. Pry the power panel off and you will expose the two switches (one for power, one for the brushes). Push the power switch down and it should "release" and go back to clicking when pushed. Re-assemble. Took about 5 minutes to fix.

I have the Animal CD-07 and what I do is take some Lavender oil and place a few drops of it on the filter. That way at least it smells better. Works for me! I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/charles_6bf94c079488b145
