Hard to push wont pick up

Hi David,I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If the machine doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, there may be a blockage in the machine - the filter may also need a wash.To locate and remove any blockages, please follow the steps shown in our online support guide:http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=4&product=DC07-ANIMAL_USIn normal use, the filter should be washed at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it. If the machine seems hard to push, the internal hose may have become twisted - to resolve this, please remove and refit the internal hose, taking care not to overtighten it. If you'd like any further help or advice, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).Best wishes,JackDyson Online Customer Supporthttp://www.dyson.com

The grey pre-filter catch broke and we ordered a

I just successfully completed this replacement on a DC33 (the prefilter catch is blue on this model.) Not sure how different the assembly is from the DC07 but thought I would post: If you turn the vacuum over there are two screws that loosen the exhaust pipe--one you can see and one up a small shaft (which also loosens the cowling just under the cyclonic assembly.) Both will require a driver or allen-style wrench with a medium-sized star head. Remove both and you will be able to take off the exhaust pipe. You'll need to pull back the aforementioned cowling a bit as you do this. Once the exhaust pipe is off you will be able to see the bottom of the prefilter catch. You'll notice five tiny bays--if you shine a flashlight through you'll see that between bays 2 and 3 there is a small catch (you can note it at the bottom of your replacement prefilter catch as well.) Shove two extra small screw drivers (like the size you get in eyeglass repair kits) into bays 2 & 3, then gently press down on the driver handles to release the catch. A little pushing at the same time will remove your broken prefilter catch. DON'T INSTALL YOUR NEW CATCH YET! Otherwise, like me, you'll have to immediately remove it to reinstall the exhaust pipe :) This was the most time consuming part of the whole operation, as you kind of have to fenangle it a bit to get it back on. Be patient and don't forget to pull the cowling back again while you're doing this. Once it's back on, realign the cowling at the top of the assembly and replace the screws. Then you can turn the vacuum upright again to easily snap in your new prefilter catch.

Won't turn on after cleaning.. is there a cuicit breaker or reset?

Hi Larry,I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. Your machine is equipped with a safety device which shuts the machine off to prevent it from overheating - this is often due to a blockage, or because the filter needs a wash. The machine should run again after it's had time to cool down, which may take up to two hours. To prevent the cut-out from reoccurring, please follow the steps shown in our online troubleshooting guide:http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=4&product=DC07-ANIMAL_USIn normal use, the filter should be washed at least once every 3-6 months as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for it to dry completely before replacing it. This should resolve the issue, but if you do need any further assistance or advice, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US), so we can help.Kind regards,JackDyson Online Customer Support

There is no suction when using the wand on DC25

After hours of investigation, I have found the root of the suction problem for anyone having the same problems. If you take the hoses off the change valve that switches between hose and brush bar. You will see that the change over is done by a flimsy piece of plastic that doesn't actually create a seal with either ports. In fact mine had a 2/3mm gap. Its disgraceful that it left the factory this way, they should have been recalled and replaced!I wonder what Mr Dyson would say about this icon_e_smile.gif.Let me know if your is the same and Ill tell you how I partially fixed it to get atleast 200% better suction!

I have a Dyson Animal

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07 Animal. From what you've described, it sounds as if the wand has been replaced on the cleaner without the hose being retracted. To remove the wand from the machine, hold the cleaner securely in place by placing one foot on the cleaner head, then pull the wand up forcefully whilst holding the purple quick-draw hose release (located above the on/off switch) down. Make sure you are not leaning over the top of the wand as you do this.

Once you've freed the wand from the cleaner, make sure you retract the wand before replacing it on the cleaner again. Hold down the hose release button on the hose cuff as you retract the wand inside the hose.

You might find it useful to refer to the user guide supplied with the cleaner - in case you don't have this to hand, you can download a copy here:

http://media.dyson.com/downloads/us/floorcare/manuals/dc07_opmanual_usa.pdf

If you have any further queries about using or maintaining your Dyson cleaner, please call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to provide the assistance you need. Alternatively, you can resolve many issues without picking up the phone by visiting www.dyson.com and clicking 'Support'.

My machine has suction at

I will list the spots to check this vacuum for clogs. First see the first diagram I uploaded.

ironfist109_17.png

  1. First thing is to remove the canister.
  2. Then you will see in the diagram "A." Press that button and pull the hose up and check for blockages. Make sure to check for light through the hose to guarantee no blockages.
  3. Now tilt the vacuum forward and pull out the U Bend Airway and inspect it as well (3rd pic in diagram)
  4. Now squeeze the valve release catches to remove the airway and inspect the valve for blockages. (4th pic in diagram)

ironfist109_18.png

  1. The diagram above is the pre motor filter many forget to check.
  2. Press the filter release catch and pull the filter housing out.
  3. Remove the filter.
  4. Wash real good and let dry completely.

  • Now the one thing that tends to go bad on these vacuums is the automatic air flow adjuster. When the vacuum is upright the pathway for suction is automatically on the wand. After some good use the little disk in there snaps and the air flow stays restricted in what ever position the vacuum is in. I have contacted Dyson a few other time and they do not sell this part. It is a factory fix only or I would give you the instructions to do it yourself.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

No suction from base but

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If you have suction from the hose but not through the cleaner head, it sounds as if you may have a blockage somewhere. Although I note you've already checked for this, you might want to take a look at our support guide to ensure you haven't missed anything:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/help.asp?article=98&product=DC07-ANIMAL

If the machine has been dropped, you may also want to check that the internal hose is still firmly attached to the machine at both ends, and is not split or damaged in any way. The video linked below shows where this hose is located, and how to replace it if necessary:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/help.asp?article=1989&product=DC07-ANIMAL

Hopefully this should allow you to resolve your issue without further assistance. However, if the internal hose appears to be correctly fitted and undamaged, and you cannot find any blockages, but still feel the cleaner is not picking up as well as it should do, please get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to provide the assistance you need. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).
