Could be power supply failure

It all depends on the connections and cable.
If you are using a HDMI cable and have sound but no picture, then your TV probably needs to be fix.
if you are using a RCA cable or component cable, make sure that you have the correct TV input.
you don't specify what type of TV you have, but if I were you, I'll check the connections first.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. you will need to replace the leaky capacitors in the power supply circuit. You can locate the faulty capacitors with a visual check. Those that are bulging need to be replaced.
