These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. Please check the ribbons between TCON and panel. There seems some loose connection problem.

I have the exact same TV with the exact same problem. The issue is called diffusion and is not repairable. A Samsung repair tech can adjust the voltage settings but this will only work for a few weeks and cost a little more than $100. If you call Samsung they may be willing to issue you a new panel gratis (they did for me) but you will have to pay labor for the swap (about $400). If you do this the new panel will start to act up just like the old one so I would advise against it. Samsung will also claim that this is not a common problem which isn't true - especially for the 58" models which are seeing many extended warranty claims (which I didn't purchase).Best advice is to deal with it until you can't take it anymore and then buy a new TV but avoid Samsung in general and especially their plasmas. That is the route I am taking. And bashing Samsung for bilking me out of $400 6 months ago to replace a defective product with an equally defective one and then saying so sorry but you're now on your own.
