Background changeover unit failure on 6130dj
Hi,
When a background switching malfunction occurs, "F" and "4" will display
alternately on the function number display panel of the scanner.
Wipe the top and bottom glasses located inside the ADF with the Cleaner F1
and check if the problem persists.
If turning on the scanner again does not recover the situation, then follow the procedures provided below:1 Does the same symptom occur after turning OFF and ON the scanner? Press power button of the scanner for more than 2 seconds to turn it OFF, and after more than 2 seconds elapse, press the power button to turn the scanner ON.2 Are the cables between the Control PCA and the BW Motor damaged? Or are the connectors connected correctly?3 Is the white reference work properly? If not, then replace the BW Motor.Perform background changeover test.4 Is the OPT Unit installed correctly? Check ADF (Front) and ADF (Back)5 Replace the Control PCA and see if the error is resolved.6 Replace the OPT Unit and see if the error is resolved.Hope the above information is helpful. Thanks,ScanCare

I have a Fujitsu 4220c2
Hi,
Thank you for contacting Fixya.
This error is detected when one of the followings occurs: (TWAIN Error-Paper jammed in the ADF - Code DS32002), Scanner panel error-U1
1) A document does not reach the TOP sensor while the scanner has transported the document about 250 mm to pick. (The scanner performs retry operation.)
2) The trailing edge of a document does not reach the TOP sensor after the scanner transports the document by the length (L) below. (The document may have slipped on the rollers)
Check the followings:
1.Scan condition - Transported length (L) before jam
2.ADF fixed size - scanning Approximately 450 mm
3.Long paper scanning -1.2 times of the specified value
If the imprinter is installed, paper jam can occur in the following case.
If the scanner starts scanning when the imprinter cable (EXT cable) is not connected to the scanner, it does not rotate the imprinter, since it recognizes the imprinter not installed, which results in paper jam in the imprinter section.
Solution:
Remove the jammed document and close the ADF. When the error frequently occurs, refer to the followings:
1. Do the documents satisfy paper specification? Please read the operator guide for paper specification.
2. Have the documents been jogged?
• Align the edge of documents for stable paper feeding.
• Remove documents with crease or dog-ear.
• Scanning different width of documents may cause skew and result in paper jam.
3. Is the Imprinter EXT cable correctly connected to the scanner? Check the cables. (only when the Imprinter is installed)
4. Clean rollers in ADF and Imprinter and see if the error is removed. (only when the Imprinter is installed)
5. Replace Pick roller and Pad ASY and see if the error is removed. Check the consumable counter from the TWAIN driver screen. When the counter exceeds the values shown, replace Pick roller or Pad ASY.
If the above do not help, then the issue could be caused by the followings:
6. Malfunction of TOP sensor.
7. Malfunction of Cover open sensor.
8. Faulty Scanner Control PCA.
If Imprinter is installed, then the issue could be caused by the followings:
1. Malfunction of Sensor OPB5 lever (only when the Imprinter is installed).
2. Malfunction of Motor LF if the imprinter roller does not rotate.(only when the Imprinter is installed).
3. Faulty Imprinter Control PCA. (only when the Imprinter is installed).
Hope the above information is helpful. Please revert if you have any doubt.

Background changeover unit failure
Hi Vivek,
Thank you for contacting Fixya.
When a background switching malfunction occurs, "E" and "F" will display alternately on the function number display panel of the scanner.
Background changeover unit failure error is detected in initial checking at power on.
Probable causes:
- Insulation material damage of BW motor cable or the damage of the wire in the motor.
- Defective lamp or CCD or CCD cables.
- CCD Connector disconnected.
- Defective Control PCA.
Solution:
Wipe the top and bottom glasses located inside the ADF with the Cleaner F1 (or isopropyl alcohol) and check if the problem persists.
1. Does the same symptom occur after turning OFF and ON the scanner? Press power button of the scanner for more than 2 seconds to turn it OFF, and after more than 2 seconds elapse, press the power button to turn the scanner ON.
2. Check if the cables between the Control PCA and the BW motor damaged? Are the connectors connected correctly? Check & confirm the position of the BW motor and check the cables.
3. Check Is the CCD cable F or B damaged? Or are the connectors connected correctly?
4. Check if the OPT Unit is installed correctly?
5. Check if the white reference works properly? If not, then replace the BW Motor.
6. If the above do not resolve your issue, then you may have to replace the Control PCA or Optical unit to see if the error is resolved.
Hope the above information is
helpful. Please revert if you have any doubt.

Scanner loses connection to PC
Best way to verify if its the scanner. Hook the scanner to another computer or laptop and install the drivers and see if the scanner is still losing conection. If it is losing connection on another computer or laptop then we know for sure it has to be the scanner since you already replaced the cable. Also make sure the power cord is nice and snug and use a different one if your not sure if the original power cord is good.
That way we know both cables have been replaced and we tried another computer. If the scanner doesn't lose connection on another computer then we know its a problem with the operating system on the original computer, at that point, do a system restore back to the last date that you remember it working properly. If that doesn't work then you'll need to save your docs and other files and wipe out the drive and do a factory restore on the computer.

Fujitsu fi-4120C2 scanner
There are two generally components for a scanner to work, One the Hardware Driver, which connects to the Comp and Two, a program to scan using the hardware connected. Sometimes, both may be available in the same program. For example, after installing the Device Driver, you can use any scanning program, to scan. Hence please check if you have loaded the Device Driver. You may be just using the scanning software, whcih is not able to detect the device!

The F4:C2 error on your scanners indicates that there is a problem with the background changeover unit, specifically with the black and white (BW) servo motor. It sounds like you have already done some troubleshooting and found that the motor is operating correctly and the changeover flaps and lamps are also working fine. However, the problem seems to be with the scanner's control system not recognizing the correct position of the flaps and continuing to try to move them, causing the gears to slip and the error to occur.
Here are a few additional suggestions for troubleshooting the issue:
- Check the sensor that detects the position of the changeover flaps and ensure that it is clean and properly connected.
- Check the control board or main board of the scanner for any signs of damage or wear and check all the connectors.
- Try to re-flash or update the firmware of the scanner.
- If the problem persists, try replacing the control board or the main board of the scanner.
I have a fujitsu fi-6130 scanner and when i try to download the drivers it say incompatible and my computer deletes the downloads i have a window 10 pro
Unfortunately, the problem is the Windows 10 version. The first few versions of Windows 10 worked with TWAIN scanners. I've forgotten the exact release (possibly 20H2) and later versions of Windows 10 require the WIA (windows image acquisition) scanner drivers. The switch was around the same time as Windows' release that required manufacturers digitally sign the drivers.
The work-around to continue using some TWAIN scanners is the VueScan software from
https://www.hamrick.com/ . This software translates between TWAIN and WIA so that Windows 10 accepts the use of the scanner. Download the software and check if it works with your scanner before you decide to purchase it. The fi-6130 is listed as a supported scanner; I still recommend testing the software. The software puts a watermark on scanned documents when you use the free version. The automatic document feeder will not work properly in the free or basic version. You need the standard or professional license to use the ADF properly.
I hope this helps.

(I have an older TWAIN flatbed scanner (Microtek scanMaker S100) and use with VueScan. The hardest part is remembering to open the software. I used Windows Fax and Scan with the scanner since Windows 7 when I got the device.)
