Westinghouse 40" 1080P Lcd Hdtv Questions & Answers
Wont power inverterit has power to the wall to the power board but the tv wont turn
google the manufacturer and model number and the words "bad capacitor" or "replace capacitor" and see if someone has photos of a retrofit for broken capacitors. You need to know your way around a soldering iron but there are hundreds of computers and flat screens that got bad capacitors installed. For someone who knows how to solder they can look at a photo with the bad capacitors circled, check their own product, pull the bad capacitors, replace and have a great TV again. I did this with a Sceptre Naga 3.
There was one year when perhaps 1/5th of the capacitors made were bad (one factory in china). Lots of manufacturers knew that they had problems but shipped anyway. At least one computer manufacturer has been successfully sued on this.

Power went out now westinghouse tv wont work
The brown outs created by your AC unit may have caused some internal damage to the Power board or the inverter board. If you aren't able to do the basic electronic dignostics required, take it to a professional to have it diagnosed. If you're handy and able to do some basic diagnostics with a VOM, remove the back of the TV and look for bulging capacitors or check for possibly blown fuses with an Ohm meter.
