Sharp XE-A102 Cash Register - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

My register only beeps after it's been reset. How can I fix this. Sharp xea102

Make sure the batteries are not flat. It usually indicates a lack of battery power and it is losing the programming because of it

MASTER RESET Master reset: Clears all the memory and initializes each preset parameter. The master reset should be performed by using the following procedure. 1. Turn off the power (Power OFF). (See Note 1.) 2. Remove the memory back up battery from ECR. 3. Turn the mode switch to any position other than Power OFF. 4. Turn on the power (Power ON). (See Note 2.) If you put in REG mode and hit #/SBTL it will clear the "P", but it may modify some of your programming depending on what you were doing (such as keying in an amount and department). Usually it is preset unit price for a department key that may change. You can check this on the report. If you keep an old programming report, you can check to see if anything has changed. If it has, go back to PGM mode and reprogram.

Next to the paper roll there are small 3 batteries, remove them and wait for 2 mins and then insert them back

If you wanted to stop that printer from running, you can't. Aftre evry trnsactions it prints and is very slow. You can change the preinter and put an er42 printer that is a bit faster

Check you keyboard if there isn't any key that is stuck down

If its feeding paper but not printing, make sure that you are using the correct thermal paper and that there is no extra bits of paper stuck under the printing head. Otherwise it might need a replacement printing head. If its not feeding the paper at all, then make sure that the receipt is turned on.

Its either you are not using the right paper or that paper is upside down if its a thermal printer or just that your printhead is gone

Push down the printer platern or you have to make sure the thermal head is sitting properly
