Restart problem
There might be possibility of Virus.Please check for virus.
This problem may occur if all the following conditions are true:
- You have East Asian Language support installed on your Windows XP-based computer and the Input Method Editor (IME) selected as your default input language.
- You have the Welcome screen turned on.
Check weather you are using service pack 1 or above.
If still problem occur then just try to download Shutdown patch from website
Wont connect to my wireless router
does it see the router?
does it try to connect and ask for the passphrase? It maybe it doesn't like the encryption. you may have to set the router to something simpler like 64bit wep
check what channel the router is on and what channel the wireless card is set to.

I highly recommend buying all laptop replacement parts on E-bay. You will get a smokin deal on almosteverything for instance I bought a replacement ac cord for $10.00 every retailer wanted $65.00 or more.
Just make sure whoever you purchase from has a return policy and frequently deals in that merchandise. For instance a seller cand have great feedback but may sell various items at anytime, you are better off with buying from someone who sells computer accessories all the time. Thats just my golden rule.

On the underside of the unit, you will see a box that has a thumb lift on it...beside that a lock/unlock switch. Slide the switch to unlock and then lift the thumb life which releases the battery.

What are the risks of Restoring R32 Thinkpad using
Dear sir,
If you want to restore the thinkpad you must backup your files from windows drive(usually it is C: Drive) By pressing F11 you can restore the system. i.e windows goes back to default settings or manufacturer settings.(Settings when you purchased laptop) other software you installed after buying is also erased.so before doing restore backup your personal files. i think it solws your confusion.

IBM THINKPAD R32 Tryin buttons to boot won't work?
Normally when as you bootup press F12 and you get a list of devices that you can select to boot up.
If the doesn't work go into the BIOS setup and go to the boot order configuration and set the CD as the first boot device. Later you can change it back if you wish.

The restart command does not power off your R32 but does a soft reboot of the r32, if you want to have a power down and physicaly power off and startup then you need to select shutdown and then turn the R32 back on manually. Cheers.
My CDROM is unfunctional. Can I use external CDROM
only if it supports boot from other device on the bios menu...the issue my came on cause the external cd will use an usb slot ...and when you reinstall you loose for a few moments the usb drivers...my choice will be to reinstall in a different partition directly from a image windows on the computer ...and after that just delete the old windows and also ..delete the boot ini after that by running MSconfig ...and get rid of the stuff that will prompt you to choose the old OS when you boot...its more complicated...but its the safe way ..and will work for sure ...you can also choose to run a image from your D partition and replace your C partition windows without formating ...just reinstall in the same folder when will prompt you ...this might be triky when the pc is bugged and it might not get rid of all the viruses...to specify how to do that ...just open any image (ISO) windows with winrar and run set-up...
you may also try to make a bootable usb memory stick and install the system from it...cause if it supports external cd will suport a usb stick also ...I do not know exctly how to explain you to make such a stick but I sow on the insternet some reviws about ..and it isnt complicated...
the most simpler solution is to replace the cd rom ...with any model the will suit into your machine ...even if it doesnt fit proper...just use it open to install and after that put back the old one to cover the hole...and you will do that until you find a suitable cd rom ...lets be honest despite the fact that is frustrating not to have a cd drive ...you do not install it every week

Your system may have been attacked by virus. Or your memory is too small for the operating system you are using. If you were not having the problem initially, try scanning the system for Virus with a powerful antivirus software such as Norton. You may also save your important files, format the harddisk and reinstal all software. Better still, your restore the system to a date before problem started if you are using windows vista.
