Blank screen
This could be a number of things and more info is needed. Are there any lights on the laptop when it is plugged into the mains? Have you tried taking the battery out and plugging it into the mains and switching on?
When you switch it on does the screen brighten slightly? Does anything appear on the screen? If you angle the laptop in the light can you seen anything on the screen? If you plug the laptop into an external monitor and switch the laptop on do you get a picture?
Had it pluged up a friendaccidently pulled the
Need a bit more info - 'now it won't do nothing' does not give much to go on.
If it will not plug back in then the socket inside the laptop may be dislodged and would need to be repaired. If the powersupply was dropped or knocked hard then it may have broken. If your laptop does not switch on try removing the battery, plug into the mains and switch on - if that works then the battery may have been dislodged or the terminals may have been damaged in some way.
Driver video controler type 2652
The same model ThinkPad can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download the drivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: -
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).
I have a wireless card and it doesnt work. the
Lenore is the maker of thinkpads, you need to get onto their website and download the driver after you have provided the name, model, and serial number then download the directed driver. Make sure you check on the device manager for the driver''s name. You should be able to get on IBM'S web site and do the same thing by going to support and clicking on the "Driver's and downloads" section. Good luck.
IBM Thinkpad Model 2652 -
you can get recovery disks from
http://www.bootdisk.com/ although if it's just started saying that you have no OS and you are sure you didn't wipe the machine yourself, i think you might have a failing HDD, especially as its such an old model.
My Thinkpad A30 replacement battery
Hi,
Welcome to FixYa!
Im very sorry to hear that, it may also be the AC adapter that you are using. Worst is the DC port, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.
1. Removed the battery.
2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.
3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.
4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.
Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...
How can i reset bios
To reset the BIOS password read the information from this
link.
In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD.
The owner of a IBM
That is a bit of a problem.
There is no way of finding out what it was I suppose as there is no way of cracking the password.
Contact IBM.com for a dealer near you who can do it for you. I can do it but I am tied by protocol as it is a confidential action.
Why changing the password would help, I have no idea. It won't affect the programmes.
Hope that helps.
Dose all ibm have wireless connection in them

Ibm thinkpad A30 doesn't receive power from new or
The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty.
Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.
Locked out
Hi,
If you are talking about the Boot, HDD, Bios password, then the only one way to recover it is to implement a chip on the systemboard to shorcut the protection or to contact Lenovo for a systemboard replacement.
Otherwise you can check out theses 2 tutorials, with few skill you can make it yourself:

Bought a replacment battery for A30 and charging
Im not sure what you are asking but I will try anyway.
You just want to see when you are charging?
Does the computer work when the charger is disconnected?
Most new batteries require hours to charge before they give any function.
How long will depend on the battery and charger. See the manual.
My battery took 2 days and I was angry. (24 hrs the manual said)
I put my wifes charger on and it began to function.
After that, my charger worked but not before...
Let it charge for 24 hours. Then see what happens.
My A30 ibm laptop wont start up??
Try start up in Safe Mode press F8. Choose Safe Mode, when at the choice window, to select either Safe Mode Desktop, OR System Restore, chooses system restore and choose a time before you had the "Problem" and follow instructions. This should get you back.
