Where can i find the volume adjustment control?
There is a Button on your keyboard that has blue lettering that is stated "Fn" without quotes. HOLD this button down, and then press the buttons on the RIGHT SIDE of the keyboard UP TOP where there are pictures of speakers with arrows going UP and DOWN. this will help in lowering and raising the volume.
So HOLD DOWN the Fn Key and then PRESS the VOLUME key you Want.
Hope this helps.
Put new hard drive in my laptop it is asking for a
If it is asking for a password shortly after turning the laptop on ,and before windows or anything else loads, its likley the hard drive wasn't new. It appears that for some reason it has a lock password on it. The only way in would be to contact where you got it from and see if they can help. Generally speaking new drives dont have these locks. If its after windows loads up then things are a little easier. Whilst your laptop turns on hold down the f8 key until you get a windows boot menu. Select Safe Mode use your arrow keys and press enter. When Windows loads it will look slightly different. Just Click on Start --> Control Panel and navigate to the Users Icon. Open this and select your user, then click change password to reset it. Just reboot after these steps and you should be able to login. If niether of these things work than leave a comment and I will get back to you with more help.
Please take a moment to rate my solution.
Thanks.
Simon.

How to un lock it
It's not easy to do. I'd recommend having an authorized IBM repair center unlock it for you.
I would like to nwom how much of memory this
The Thinkpad is installed with 128 MB SDRAM is standard, and is expandable to 512 MB
There are two memory slots, to expand it to 512 Mb you need two 256 Mb RAM modules and throw away the 128 Mb RAM module, but if you don't throw away this module and you insert a 256 Mb RAM module in the 2nd memory slot then your total memory would be 384 Mb.
Ibm think pad r32 0196 critical low-battery error
Fail safe in the battery has engaged. See if the computer will start without the battery, using just the power supply. If you can get it started then put the battery in and see if it will charge or reset the fail safe. Give it about an hour, then shut it completely down and restart it with the battery in. If it won't start at this point, then you will need a new battery. Also change the CMOS battery inside the computer

I had just added a new keyboard to a Dell desktop
1. It happen to me one time with my acer aspire, but since the warranty of life top expired already, what I deed is that I open up the back where my hard disk is located, I just remove it and and after 5 mionutes re-attached it again then i turn on the laptop and it works again.
this is only advisable if you know how to access your hard disk and if it's warranty is lapsed already.
Factory settings
Use a Recovery CD that came with your laptop.
The other way is to do a new Windows install. Use a Windows installation CD; it must match the Windows version on the Windows Product Code label on the bottom of your laptop.
You will also need to download the device drivers for your model laptop from the IBM/Lenovo WEB support site, make sure the download the correct XP or Vista version of the drivers which matches the Windows version you are installing.
Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: -
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true
You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will then unzip and expand into a folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder.
