The disk drive is saying

There could be a fault which may mean you have to replace the drive but first try a cd lens cleaning disk and if you have some, open the disk drawer and give the inside of the drive a blast of compressed air.

My laptop screen is blinking

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

I am tryin to setup

first: do you have a wifi-capable router? ensure that you do, and that it is hooked up properly.
next, are you sure your laptop is capable of wifi?
if there is a wifi switch on your laptop, flip it to the on position.

if you're running windows:
right click on the taskbar. you should see a signal/strength bar either with a red X or a gold circle.
if it's a gold circle, right click. find your enabled wifi router name, and connect.

My thinkpad does not hold a charge it only work

Make sure the battery contacts are clean. If it won't hold a charge then you probably need a new battery. Batteries only last a couple of years.

IBM Thinkpad 2647 will not power on , i plug it in

This is a tricky problem, you need to troubleshoot this bit by bit - first take the memory out one stick at a time and try to turn it on each time, then try the hard drive. If it boots further with one of these things out then you know thats the problem. If it still doesnt boot after trying these components then you need a repair as it will be an onboard component.
My immediate guess would be the onboard power supply unit, unless your charger is broken and you can test with another charger to rule that out too.

IBM ThinkPad T20 0175 :

> CRC

Cyclic Redundancy Check

When you write a block of data to the disk-drive, a 'CRC' value is calculated, based on the data, and both the 'data' and the 'CRC' are written to the disk-drive. When you ask to read that 'data', both the 'data' and the 'CRC' are read. The 'CRC' is recalculated, based on the data actually read. The "new" CRC is checked against the "old" CRC. If there is a mismatch, you have a 'CRC check' event, implying that the data you wrote could *NOT* be accurately retrieved.

So, it's probable that your disk-drive is "dying" -- it cannot accurately store your data. Replace it.
