I have a iBM t40 2373 Thinkpad when i turn it on i get 2 codes one is 0176 and the other is 0271

The first code is a tamper alarm indicating that the case has been opened and the second code is complaining about the time and date settings. It may just be that the cmos battery is dead and needs replacing because you will also get a tamper warning if the system thinks the battery has been disconnected. A lithium ion battery is good for about 10 years and this computer came out in 2003. Reboot, go into the setup for the bios, set the correct time and date. If this doesn't do it, you need to replace the battery and then configure date/time.

Battery of my Acer Aspire 4810T does not work.

Hello,

There are three possible reasons why your computer is experiencing this power problem. What you need to do is to isolate the component that's causing it.

These are the parts which should be checked:
1. Power supply
2. Battery
3. Motherboard of the laptop.

Here's the procedure that you have to follow:

1.
Remove the battery from the computer.

2. Power the computer up with the power cord only without the battery on it.

3. Check if it works perfectly without any problems even if the battery is out. If it works, then, the battery needs to be replaced. (Note: Batteries are disposable parts. They usually die after 2 years of usage depending on how you use it.)

4.If no go even without the battery on it, check the ac adapter or cord if there's a light lit on the box of the cord. If no lights on it, double check the connection. If connections seem ok but no power, then, replace the power cord.

5. If power cord seem fine, check the hole in the computer where you plug in the cord. What you need to check is if there are any sign of damages. Wiggle the cord and see if there are lights lit in the laptop.

I hope this help.

CARLO

Just changed ram in my Lenovo M55 when I powered on it gave me four beebs then three then four then three

I would change my memory back. But first I would write down what is on the memory module. Just to make sure I did buy the correct ram. Perhaps the modules you got, have a different speed or just a different bus. Perhaps you even did not insert the module(s) correct. Make sure you have the correct modules, That is correct size and correct speed. Insert the modules correct, without using force.

Will not properly boot up

For starters the support for XP has been ended by Microsoft so no more updates it is now classified as a vulnerable operating system. Please upgrade to Windows 7 or better, if you are looking to troubleshoot when the computer is booting up tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu click on Startup in Safe mode, this will continue to boot the machine, enter your username and password then goto control panel, add remove programs and uninstall any software that you think could be causing this issue, reboot back this time without the F8 key and see if changes made have any effect on the operating system. Otherwise you can google you problem

Frozen cursor

Hi, First check your charger with a digital volt meter. + on the inside - on the outside. You should have a little more what your battery is rated at. If that is OK check connections to and from the Laptop. My guess is that your charger is not working. Relpace with new and your good to go. Also check for a bad connection on laptop.
