Smeg A42-5 Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How to set timer
I found a pdf of the manual for your stove. See the link below to download the pdf.
If you press the button that looks like a bell under the clock you can use + an - keys to set the minutes for a reminder timer that won't turn off the oven.
After turning the thermostat to the temp you want and function knob to the setting you want set the cooking time as follows.
You press the button that looks like steam coming off a pan below the clock for 1/2 second .
Then use + an - keys to set the minutes. Every 12 minutes will make a new segment light up on the inside ring so the numbers corospond to hours on the inside ring.
When the time is where you want it, wait 6 to 10 seconds and the cooking and timer will start.

The clock and timer unit fails to display.
Same problem here. Pressing hard on the fascia worked for a bit, but now fails to work.
The thing I've noticed is that the whole section above the grill gets extremely hot when the grill is used, i.e. the panel with all the dials and the clock. I don't remember this always being the case, so I'm wondering if some heat dispersal mechanism (a fan perhaps?) has failed over the years... effectively causing the clock's electronics to get cooked. You've had three clock modules in five years?!
I have a smeg A42-5 oven and the digital clock as
Hi There
I have found this for to read and hope this will help you. Let me know how it goes.
The clock stopped
The
non-electronic clocks on electric range/ovens often don't last long.
That's a problem, because the clock is essential to the self-cleaning
and timed-bake features. Clocks are rarely repairable--you usually just
have to replace them.
Electronic
clocks have been more reliable. But, they're often integrated with
several other features of the range/oven. So when the clock develops a
defect, it often renders the entire oven and broiler inoperative. The
electronic clock is usually integrated with a circuit board, and the
touchpad that holds the buttons you press is often a separate
component. If your electronic clock is defective, you may need to
replace the touchpad, circuit board, or both. Although these may be
expensive, they aren't usually very complicated to replace.
Thank you for writing to fix ya.
Best Regards Richard
SMEG Grill Element Screw Falls Out
there may have been a nut welded in the roof that has worked itself loose,or more likely you have stripped the thread.
try using a self-tapping screw to hold it in place
Top oven grill element
Hey there, Shouldn't be too difficult. Just two nuts to remove. If unsure about reconnecting wiring, draw yourself a little diagram clearly indicating the colours. Let me know if you are having further problems.
My Smeg gas oven lights up when I press the knob to light but as soon as I release the knob the flame dies?
Question edited for clarity.
The thermocouple safely device needs replacing. It's job is to make sure there is a good pilot flame before opening the main burner valve. When they fail, the flame goes out. You can try holding the knob longer, or just call for service and have it replaced. It is a gas appliance so should only be worked on by a gas certified technician. It is a fast job, in and out in 30 minutes, so call out plus the part.

OK for smeg gas stove circuit wiring diagram mode3 C9GGSSA-1
As an AI language model, I do not have access to specific product information or wiring diagrams. It is important to obtain the correct wiring diagram for your specific model of gas stove to ensure proper and safe installation. I recommend consulting the user manual or contacting the manufacturer or a licensed electrician for assistance.

Smeg gas hob, 2 burners have very low flame
If two burners on your Smeg SR275XGH2 gas hob have a very low flame, it may indicate a problem with the burners or the gas supply. Here are some steps you can try to fix the problem:
- Check the gas supply: Make sure that the gas supply to the hob is properly connected and turned on. If the gas supply is off or disconnected, the burners may not function properly.
- Check the burners: Check the burners for any visible damage or blockages that may be causing the low flame. Make sure the burners are clean and free of any debris or foreign objects.
- Check the gas pressure: Make sure that the gas pressure to the hob is set correctly. If the gas pressure is too low, the burners may not function properly.
- Check the connection: Make sure that the connection between the hob and the gas supply is secure and not damaged. If the connection is damaged, it may cause the burners to function improperly.
- Contact technical support: If the above steps do not help, you may need to contact Smeg or a technical support team for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose the problem and provide you with the necessary support.
It is also a good idea to check the documentation or manual that came with the hob for any troubleshooting tips or recommendations.

Smeg range cooker with induction hob e4
Hope this helps!
The issue is that the control board requires reconfiguration.
Firstly switch off the appliance and disconnect from the mains.
Reconnect and Press and Hold the Minus key '-'
While holding the minus key press keys 1 through 4 in turn within 4 seconds. Each key press will give an audible beep.
Once done you should get a 'C' displayed for each ring element.
Now place a pan of water on one element. Press the Plus key '+' next to the element ring and wait for the 'C' to change to '-'.
Repeat that for each element and once complete the appliance will switch off.
Reconfiguration is now complete and you can use the appliance as normal.
