high temperature is a lithium batteries worst enemy .. also the LCD display doesnt like that .. you might try removing the battery for 10 min .. check to make sure its not swollen .. then replace it and see if that resets your camera back to a working condition .. see if the camera will work with the charger hooked up .. if not your camera might be toast .. if it does work on the charger then the battery may have been damaged by the heat ..

I looked on the manual ...and doesn't say anithing about cards..except that it has to be an SD...maybe there is something wrong with the camera ..or is not a secure digital ...and is a multimedia ...or the other way around...
try to see if its not locked...and reformat it on the computer ..if the camera don't have the feature to format it ......maybe its too small ...or too little ...or damaged...

You might be having trouble with your sd card in the camera because it is too big. Some camera's will only use a certain size card or up to a certain size card. Check your manual for restrictions on the size of SD cards that the camera can use. Also you can buy a sd card reader for about $20 at most stores that sell cameras. Put the card in the reader and then hook it to your computer. You can then transfer the pictures to the computer or to another sd card. Hope this helps.

This is because your camera is of old version and vista doesn't support it. to solve this problem you should visit to the website of your camera which is given in the manual of it and download driver for vista.

Comes around $25 at a service center. Suggest you buy a broken M407 with a good screen from ebay (or etc) and try fixing it yourself. Even I had experienced the same ended in paying lot of money. This camera does not worth spending so much. Or suggest invest in a new DC. Jimmy, Bangalore

The batteries probably need to be replaced. Be sure that any batteries seat properly and tightly. You may have to tape the battery door shut with strong tape to keep the contact tight. This type of damage is expensive to repair compared to the cost of the cameras. You can take it in and have it looked at, but be sure to get an estimate and then you can make an educated decision on whether to repair or replace it.

Try going to the HP website, and downloading the new drivers. If you are having a problem with it, that could be the only way to get the computer to recognize the camera. Good luck.

The NI-MH batteries are the Best for use with Digital cameras....U need to Charge the New Battery for 12 Hours The First time and then 2-3 hours for every other time you charge ... try and check please

Check that the memory card is properly inserted. Its spring loaded, and should latch in with an audible click. We just had this problem on our vacation, possibly caused when changing batteries, the card itself was unlatched, so we got a message "no memory", after the card itself was just downloaded & reformatted. I ended up with two sets of pictures, one in the camera's internal memory and one in the card. (I had to download each set separately)

You may find it easier to purchase a media card reader for transferring the files. This is a small device that allows you to connect the media card to your computer like a drive, thus allowing you to move files onto the card.

yes . pull the card from the camera and simply plug it in a card reader connected to your pc via usb.(cheap as chips) , your pc will see the card as a mass storage device, Off load the photos and place back in camera and format ,

You can do it through Windows Explorer.
Plug in your camera via USB cable to PC. Make sure it gets detected. Right click on the START button and select Explore. In the left hand pane, if you scroll down, you will see your camera listed as a drive (usually after the DVD/CDROM drive). Click the (+) next to the entry to expand the folders. (Copy the images you want to import into the camera from the PC location first). Now simply locate the folder in your camera drive that stores pictures, right click and paste them.

Well the batteries charchable should last about 2 hours. What u mean about focus while taken the pictures?

There are two identical sized small buttons on the top. Push the one nearest the picture-taking button until it says self-timer. Push the picture-taking button. The display should show a countdown until the timer takes the picture.
