The problem is the iris is stuck.

The solution is:
1. Move the camera to TV mode(the wheel with AUTO,M,TV,...)
2. Set the exposure time to 15 seconds(15")
3. Take a picture.
4. After 7 seconds remove the batteries and put them back on.
5. Repeat the procedure until it works.

PS. Hovever, not all photos be possible recovery after system restore, because a part of photos or all can be overwrritet with recovery files, but You MUST TRY recovery.

In this case u need to update the drivers........ Insert the Software CD to the computer.... Right Click On My Computer..... Click on Properties........ Go to Hardware...... Click on Device Manager..... Now on that list u will find a option which will say Imaging Devices Under that u will see ur camera with an exclamation mark if it doesnt have an exclamation mark but it says cannot find driver u can just uninstall and reinstall the software...... But if it has a Yellow Exclamation mark then right click on the Camera click on Update drivers...... Click On Browse my Computer for software.......... Select the CD Rom drive from my Computer........ And click nxt not it will say ur hardware is installed and ready to use.... As it is done u will now be able to Import pictures from Camera.............

Look at the USB plug on the camera, and at the plug guide at this link to determine which USB cable it takes.

You should be able to just copy or move the files from the camera to the computer using Windows Explorer. You can also download Irvanview which is a free image editing program that has a function to copy files from the camera to the computer.

Do you have the software for the camera (drivers etc...) if you do then load the software and choose to install the drivers for the camera yourself browsing to where they are then installing them. If you have not got the drivers then try here for them

Almost all usb cable for most digital camera works well with other digicam. They are almost interchangeable. You can even use a usb cable for ipod.

I have the same problem with my DS6618. Anyone know how to change the battery?
