Hardware - Are part of the motherboard and controlled in BIOS.

Storage Controllers (drivers) are loaded by Windows during install.

Here are the laptop drivers, but there should no reason to change or modify. It would not be working at all if there was something wrong.

Fix Driver Solution In Windows-Start-Control-Panel-Device Manager then search through the list for the element of distress. If it's Audio, it is in the Sound-Video-Game Controllers whereby left clicking on that section will open up a window indicating your electronic devices. A video Camera-Sound Source may show up and if you Right Click on that line you get a message Update Software? You will get another option the Search On-Line Note-you must have internet access for this feature- and say yes, and allow a search to ensue. If you have the Best Driver installed a message stating so will appear- if not you will get an updated driver and it will be installed for you automatically. The other method is to go to the Manufactures Web Site and Support area. Input the necessary data re Model, etc. and look for Drivers. Update ALL new drivers at the same time and install them accordingly.

It can't locate a working boot disc. Most likely lost communications with hard drive. Look in BIOS again to see it recognizes the drive. If not try re-seating / reconnecting drive.

New hardware often comes with specific instructions for installation. Some want you to install software first - others want the hardware installed first. Make sure you're supplying the PC with what is needed - in the order it is needed.

If the device requires external power - be sure to provide it.

When prompted to allow connecting to the internet to search for drivers after connecting the hardware - be sure to allow it. If the PC is unable to locate drivers online, the device should have come with software on a disk. Insert the disk into the computer and tell the computer that you have inserted the disk and choose "removable drives". If no software was supplied, check with the manufacturer's website. Download the drivers needed for your operating system. If there are no drivers for your operating system listed, the hardware may not be supported on it. You should contact the manufacturer of the device to see if they have a "work- around" for you.

Good luck!

You can make a USB install on another computer. You need an app like Novicorp to make it bootable. Then change the boot menu to USB as 1st boot. Choose install then repair.

Oh, just insert a straightened paperclip into the tiny manual eject hole. The CD should eject. No power required.

Change the display settings on your Dell monitor to prevent your monitor from going into power-save mode prematurely. Right-click anywhere on your desktop and choose "Properties." Click the "Screensaver" tab and press "Power." Next to "Turn off Monitor," choose a time segment from the drop-down list and press "Apply."Sep 28, 20
