Cannot dial out

There are two parts to an extension. The user profile and the physical phone. In order to use the new phone you need to just plug it in and discover it on to the system (like you did). It will create a new extension (user profile and phone) and then go to the users tab and select the user (profile), that you want to move to the new replacement phone, and then scroll down in the "telephone list" and find the new one and highlight it. Click ok and it will move the old profile to the new telephone. it will orphan the old telephone and the new user profile. These can both be deleted.

Can't connect to 3COM Mediant

Hi

You do not say which operating system you use.

Press and hold the Router's Reset Button (sometimes you need a pen to push a Press Plate) at the rear of the Router.

This can be used to Restore the Router to Factory Settings, set the Router back to Default Username and Password (2-5 seconds) or, sometimes, clear the Username and Password for you to enter new ones (usually15-20 seconds), depending on how long you Press and Hold the Reset Button.

Alternatively:

Windows XP
Start > Run >ipconfig.exe > Enter, will reveal the IP Address of the router.

Windows Vista:
Start > type "command" in search box at bottom of Start Menu > click "Command Prompt" at top of Start Menu > type "ipconfig" after the C: \>

Windows 7:
Start > type "cmd" in the search box at bottom of Start Menu > click "cmd" at top of Start Menu > type "ipconfig" after the C:\>

Log onto the internet and type in the IP Address in your browser window and press enter. Access the Router Setup and follow the steps to configure it.

I hope this helps. If this Answer goes some way towards helping to resolve your Query, Problem or Fault, please take the time to Rate it. I have a 3Com Router,

The commands are different than a Cisco device. Rather than try to list all the commands in this solution I'm providing you a link to the products support page on the HP website (HP bought 3Com a while back). The support site has the manuals, command reference guides, etc for your device. It should be everything you need to get started. Best of luck!

The product of 2 numbers is 84.1 number is 8 more

This is probably a stupid way to solve it, but the factors of 84 are 2x2x3x7. 7x2=14 and 3x2=6. 14x6=84.

I don't remember how to work out X x (X+8) = 84 and solve for X.

When I try to connect

Seems as though whoever installed your router set it to block those sites. You will have to connect straight to router with data cable and set it up again. What model is it? Try going to web site looking up model and find setup download: http://search.3com.com/search/en_US/query.html?qt=Setup&col=supp

My school blocked Formspring! It's

Trick 1. Anonymous Browsing

Use free Proxy Server which allows you to browse the web anonymously and access sites that are blocked. Here is the list of few proxy servers which I came across while Googling..

http://www.proxybrowsing.com/
http://www.hidemyass.com/
http://www.browserjump.com/
http://www.ninjaproxy.com/
http://www.kproxy.com/
http://proxify.com/
http://www.w3privacy.com/
Trick 2. Google Translation

In case if your organization has blocked all the anonymous proxy servers, you can use Google Translator( also called as Google Language Tools) service as your proxy server. Google Translator translate pages from one language to another language. You can surf the blocked web pages by translating them from English to English(or any language which you desire).

Replace WEBSITE with your favorite site address in the following URL and start accessing them

http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en'en&u=WEBSITE
Example: http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en'en&u=http://mgopinath.blogspot.com

Trick 3. Google Mobile Search

Google Mobile search service translates HTML pages to mobile phone browser compatible by removing style sheets and java script. You can use this service to browse the web pages in text only format.

Replace WEBSITE with your favorite site address in the following URL to start accessing them

http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u=WEBSITE
Example: http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u=mgopinath.blogspot.com

Trick 4. Search Engine Cache

Enter the blocked URL in Google or Yahoo search engines and then visit the cached copy of the page.

If you know any other tricks please leave the information about them as comments

I have one 3COM 4200

I'm assuming that you did a hardware reset to factory defaults and several power cycles to no avail. In that case if even after you flashed a new firmware the switch is inaccessible then it's not a settings problem (because the reflash has wiped everything), the switch itself is defective at a hardware level.
This cannot be fixed, the switch is dead, sorry for the bad news.
