Do you mean the feature light or the backlight for the display? The feature light can be set to on or off.

To set the light, press Save then 1 (for light on) or zero (light off). Press the desired memory key to associate with the feature and then enter the code from your telephone provider for that feature. Press Save and then label the memory key.

To use the feature light, press the memory key (as selected above) and then lift the handset. Press either Handsfree or Mute. The feature and the light will turn on or off. When the phone is not in use, then Feature On will be seen in the display.

The backlight is not adjustable. You can adjust the contrast with the Contrast button. Backlights do fail over time (but it's not a repair I recommend if the phone is out of warranty).

It could be that the background music feature is turned on but doesn't have a misic player attached. Try entering in feature #86 while the handset is in its cradle.

You could either shorten the rings to 3 for call forward no answer on the CEO's phone or have the receptionist's cfna lenghtened to 6 rings.Depending on how the initial programming was set up you might also check the prime set assignment for the CEO's line to see if its set for her DN.

usually there is a small slide switch on the side of the answering machine that you can use to control how many rings before it answers. if that is a new digital model you will likely have to go into the menu to set it up. often your choices are two, four or toll saver.

Programming should be done from the M7310, M7324 or the T7316E set. Administration access code: Feature * * 2 3 6 4 6 which also is Feature * * A D M I N.
If asked for a password enter the same 2 3 6 4 6.

If that doesn't work you may have the newer Compact ICS or the Modulur 0x32 control unit wish will be Feature * * 8 4 6 3 which is T I M E. Password is 2 2 7 4 2 which is B A S I C or A D M I N which is 2 3 6 4 6.
When in programming just press the next button(lower right arrow) until you see what you want to change. Then press show ( top right arrow) ,then change if you want to change it. If you pass it, just press back (lower left)
Example: To change the Time & Date Press next until you see Time & Date. Then show Then change Then change again, change it if you need to, Then next again until you see what you need to change. For example; only the hour needs to be changed for day light savings time. Just press next until you come to the Hour. Then Change it. Then press release RLs when your done.

Feature *80

You need to go into system programming and set that extension to "Forward no answer" to the extension of the voicemail.

If you dont know what that means, I would call someone in, as you can ruin your system by doing the wrong things.

Reset the system. Just kill power and let stand for 10 seconds before restoring power.

If problem persists, programming might not be set correctly for the types of lines you have.

To disable DND on a Norstar system,
dial FEATURE # 8 5
from the set.

The way 4 line phones work is that you need 4 lines on every jack that is connected to your phone.
You see the light probably because one of the phones has line conected and you see line appearance.

try to check the telephone wire connections. or try to use the other phone box to test.
