Check the input output settings. the baofeng is notorious for being somewhat difficult to program manually. Try the software setup if possible.

Hello I understand this ICON 802 marine radio will not receive. There are two things to check for. First check the speaker jack on the back side of the receiver also check the speaker plug and the connections. Make sure that the wires are soldered properly. If you have access to an ohm meter connect it to the plug leading to the speaker, it should measure 4-8 ohms. If the speaker checks ok then check the headphone jack on the front panel. The jack has a contact switch internality to disconnect the external speaker whenever a headset is plugged in. You can clean it by using a electronic contact cleaner spray a little into the jack and plug in a headset and turn the plug back and fourth. If this doesn't work, it would be inside the unit itself. Hi Joe, It sounds to me like one of two issues.Firstly, does your unit have an RF power switch, if so, it should have Hi/Lo near it, switch to hi, problem should now be resolved, however, if it's in the menu, then go through the menu until you find something like RF PWR, enter this and set it to hi, problem solved.I hope it's one of those two, if not, never fear there is yet a third and informative solution.Join yahoo group specific to your radio Make/Model, you will be required to give as much detail as possible to the expert team, who will then advise you how to resolve the problem, you can also download manuals, schematics and other goodies for your radio, all this is free.I hope I have been of assistance to you.Best regards,Peter

Hi,To help you resolve the issues with your radio, much more info is required. What frequencies are programmed in your unit, is it VHF or UHF, this is required before we can begin. Do you know if the radio has frequencies programmed in the set, if not, that would be the obvious reason why you are not able to use the set.Be that as it may, i do have a solution, but bear in mind what I have stated re: info required.Join yahoo group SPECIFIC to your radio Make/Model, the technicians there will require as much info from you as possible regarding your set, so than can give you the solution to the problem, plus you can download manuals, schematics and software and all this is completely FREE.I hope I have been helpful.Best regards,Peter

if a radios been messed with and your life can depend on it at sea is it really work risking taking it on? I f it was me I would find a backup you now will work.

am not 100 sure has have not worked on this model but maybe there is some sort of fuse, "or bulb used as a fuse lie in the old yaesuft-747gx" near the rear output if not loo at the copper tracks on the board around there, and trace back.
