How toinstal sound driver from internet?
Use the right mouse button over the Windows icon if in Win 8 or go to the Control Panel with any version. Get to the Device Manager. Open it. Look for the separate options and locate Sound. Check for Update. If updated, then go to the Desktop screen, lower right Speaker Icon to see if the Sound function is working. Check the options as to what speakers are active. If no speakers show up, you need to set the option to activate the speakers you are using. If necessary, use the HELP Menu.

Ibm fru pn 49p1599
The p/n (FRU 49P1599) is a Gigabyte motherboard, their p/n GA-G8IGMIU Rev 1.1 It seems to be a socket 478 type with FSB 400 or 533MHz, Intel 845G chipset, and DDR1 memory. In the downloads section of Gigabyte's website it is not present, probably because it so old it has been removed. In this section there is the opportunity to get the manual for a motherboard and the CPU support list, amongst other downloads. A similar m/b, the G8IG model supports ONLY older Williamette and Northwood type P4 CPUs, not the (slightly) newer Prescott ones. I suspect that your CPU is not working because it is a Prescott type (or it is just broken). To check what process your CPU was made by use the program Speccy, or take a magnifying glass and examine your processor (having carefully cleaned it up) for the S-code, RK or BK number, and look it up on Intel website (ARK) or in CPU-World.
AND you should contact Gigabyte technical support (you have to go through the register rigmarole) to see they are able to answer questions you may have, get the manual and the CPU support list.
