No video signal:

The problem isn't with your monitor, it's wth your video card, motherboard, CPU or power supply. Do you get the single beep at startup?

Hi

Yes Nero will do that but you should have full version of NERO to write it as video DVD and select the speed as minimum that will play in your external DVD player

Thanks

  1. You might try using a different power or SATA cable to the drive. One of them may be defective.
  2. If your BIOS cannot see it then Vista cannot see it.
Check your BIOS settings....you might need to enable SATA in your BIOS
I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa!

If you are purchasing a new gray box for you hot water heater, spend a bit more moeny and get one of the commercial models that has all metal parts. We have had two with the plastic parts that have failed (over 10 years each of service). The outside on/off switch is also convenient. We are running the box for two sessions of 1.5 hours each on a 50 gal. water tank for a household of 2. Sometimes we increase heating during the winter, but for most of the year it's fine. Has always saved us heaps of $ as we are not benficiaries of the hydropower that supplies much of Seattle and the NW corner, even tho the dams that create the electricity are in Skagit County - go figure. Gray boxes are definitely worth the price, installation and figuring them out.

They all have some letters on them (as well as on mobo) indicating where to connect

The first thing I would do is to make sure your power supply is good. I have found that sometimes they will make some of the lights come on, but they may have 12V and not 5V or whatever. I bought a small thing you plug the power supplies into, and then the lights light up to show you if the power supply is supplying what it should. Once you are sure the power supply is good, (don't assume) if they still don't work, I would visually check the boards. I have found many times the small capacitors go bad. After replacing them, the boards worked fine. Usually they will have the top cracked open or bubbled up. If you are up on electronics, as I guess you are if you know how to read a schematic, soldering in new ones is a simple matter. I also remove the CPU, clean the bottom surface off, and put a small amount of CPU grease on and reinstall the CPU. Be sure to check all the pins, as they are pretty small and easy to bend one over.

It is unlikely that you have a bad motherboard. In installing and replacing hundreds of motherboards over the years, I've never seen lack of audio as a symptom of a bad motherboard. It is most likely either a driver or a configuration issue. Here are the steps I would take in troubleshooting the lack of audio on your system -

First of all, ensure that you've downloaded and installed the correct audio drivers for your operating system -

GA G41M Combo rev 1 3 Motherboard GIGABYTE

Once you have the proper Audio Drivers installed (and any other drivers you may need for the motherboard from the Gigabyte website), you need to ensure your audio mixer controls are working properly.

Click on the speaker icon in your system tray, then raise the volume level. When you click on the volume level slider itself, you should hear a "ding" sound each time you click on it.

If no sound is heard, click on "Mixer" below the volume level slider.
raise the levels of each item that shows, and unmute anything that is muted. Click on the volume control slider and you should hear a tone.

As far as recording goes, you didn't mention what software program you are using to record with, so I can't help you there. However, if you right click on the speaker icon in the system tray, you can select Recording Devices.

Ensure no recording devices are muted, and raise the levels of any devices that show there.

At this point, you should have sound at least coming through the speakers / headphones. If the microphone volume is too soft, you can enable microphone boost by doing the following -

Click on the start button.
Click on Control Panel
Click on "Harware and Sound"
Under "Sound", click on "manage audio devices"
Select the "Recording" tab, then click on Microphone.
Click on "properties" button in the lower right side of screen.
Click on "Custom" tab, and check "Microphone boost".
Click the OK buttons to accept the changes and close the screen

Try to register the DLL file. Goto run type cmd. This will open the command prompt. Type regsvr32 c:\enter location of .dll file\m3plugin.dll and press enter. This will register the .dll file if that is the problem.

once your computer take an BOD or blue screen of *****. it is an indicator that one of you perepherals was damage. in that case you only have to option the memory cards or the HDD. if some point you dont experience a hard time in booting it is not the HDD. maybe your memory cards was in defective state. sometimes good sometimes bad. try to chkdsk first or scan your HDD for posible bad cluster. and make a test also in your memory using some stress memory tester
