Stuck in drive

Hello This problem is sometimes caused by a defective brake light switch. It provides power to the shift lock switch to enable gear shifting. There is a TSB for this issue so it can be fixed at the dealer for free. Thanks for using Fixya. Tracer

My 2009 hyundai santefe has a loud whining from front area of motor that gets louder the faster you go

The noise is very likely from the power steering pump, that is the most common cause, it is either low on fluid or the pump is defective. See picture of pump below. 26299854-ok1ngqor3jjwmx2jbm30mtos-4-0.jpg

Idle goes up and down in park and in drive.

Sounds like your EGR Valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). I had a 1995 Mazda MX3 and a 1998 Mazda Prot?g? that both had the same problem. The symptoms are as you described them. Check your vacuum lines for a leak first, they too can cause your idle to fluctuate, make your vehicle feel as though it's losing power (horse power) and make the vehicle feel as though it's going to stall when coming to a stop while you're applying the brakes.

When removing the water pump, does the front camshaft pulley need to be removed?

I do not believe it does on this. You will most likely need a knuckle attachment for you ratchet but that should be it for getting it out.

Whats wrong just got this car last year

Hello Judy After scanning your vehicle , one or two trouble codes should be stored indicating a fault with the fuel sending units in the tank. Your vehicle is equipped with a saddle type fuel tank. There is a fuel sending unit in each side of the tank. One of/or both of these sending units is faulty. I recommend that you have both these sending units renewed along with new rubber gaskets and locking rings. I hope this helps and thank you for using fixya. Steve

Traveling at 70mph today car lost power but got me home will not rev over 2500

Wow, a lot of people have experienced the same problem as you. Look at: http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t42005_ds511688 there are so many reasons why the engine stalls, 1st system to check is the ignition system, if there is no problem there, try to check the fuel system, then the EGR, and the last is the crank shaft position sensor.. RJ ( automotive engineering student). One guy said: " I was on the Hyundai Forum sight and found a person that after numerous attempts to fix the stalling problem, HE suggested they replace the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). They did so and the problem seemed to be solved. I am taking my 2011 Santa Fe in today for the same problem and will mention the TPS replacement. " SonicPlug said: "Hyundai is finally acknowledging the stalling problem with a "Service Campaign Notification" AKA "Recall". I received a mailing and set up an appointment. Go to www.HyundaiUSA.com/Campaign929 for more information"

What makes my 2009 santa fe gear shift sorta stiff to move

Hi This condition is usually caused by the transmission gear shift tower seizing up in the inhibitor switch. To correct this, the gear shifter cable will have to be taken off at the transmission end which is fasened to the shift tower. Then remove the inhibitor/range switch and unseize the shift tower, working it back and forth with antiseize lub. Once the tower is cleaned, lubbed and has free movement, install a new range switch and reinstall shift cable if it is okay. Note: reinstall range switch in the same position as the old part so the start settings for park and neutral are good.

Hello Thanks for using Fixya. It sounds like a bad wheel speed sensor. There should be a code set for this which will also give you a wheel location. Hope this helps. Tracer

I lost my Hundai home

A model number would help.

Try http://www.remotes.com/

Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site and get the actual remote model number.

Search the web or eBay "(model of the device or the remote) remote". Usually cheaper than the vendors.

I have a hyundai HY960

Hi,

Here is what I found for One-For-All URC 7781 remote codes for Hyundai: 0037, 0865, 0556, 0706, 0860, 0753, 0698,137. I can't find any specific model but generally for Hyundai appliances, those are the codes you can use. There is a universal remote control with "Teach" mode where in you don't have to program or pair. It just automatically controls your appliances.

I hope I am of help to you. Thank you for visiting FixYa!

I have a brand new

Please try to put in an ordinary audio CD track and see if this is detected. If yes the optical is working, if not there is no laser scanning and the possibility of the head being faulty is high.
Now certain cleaner disks are not read and so will not be tracked. Hence it might reject but the best is for cleaning manually the laser head eye with a cotton bud very softly and without any pressing of the lens eye after removing the unit -ONLY if there is NO WARRANTY. other wise claim your warranty..
If there is still no result then watch the CD if it spins or tries to spin. If the head unit moves up or down to focus or in and out of the drive, if so the board seems to work correctly and the possibility of the optical head being the suspected fault is closer.
The possibility of the processing board having an error is also high.
