okay, 1080 Series isnt the model... the model number is on a sticker on the back, and that's what you need to find first. Just from the description, though, sounds like your focus block is bad; that will cause the problem you are describing... not cheap, but way cheaper than a new TV.

plug your cable box and dvd/blue ray to the home theatre(audio AND video) , and then plug the home theatre's video output to the tv.
