LaCie Ethernet Disk (300788) 1000 GB Network Hard Drive Questions & Answers
Exactly the same problem with LaCie NAS becoming unresponsive
Mine used to do that too.
It's working much better since I repaired the power supply.
The power supply shipped with the disk is really bad and dies in less than one year.
I had to replace mine 3 times !
I'm now using a power supply I repaired by replacing the 5 capacities and it's working fine.
I hope that will help.
It says no ethernet disks
What says that?
I don't have enough info.
Check your connections, make sure everything is powered correctly. And make sure you installed the software that came with it.
How to recover data from lacie etherdisk when it does not keep a network conntection.
I'll have to look into it a little more but off the top of my head I would say that the nic may be going bad or some other component of the etherdisk. You can try opening it up and putting the hard drive into an enclosure and connecting it to a pc via usb to get the data, you can also then share the usb drive and use it over the network, however removing the hard drive may void any warranty you may have. If the hard drive is in fact bad then you should be able to replace it and then continue to use the device. I'll get back to you when I get more info about the device.
Wireless External HD connection
I had the same problem in Vista but it spontaneously resolved itself after some time, but as a temporary solution you can just map to it. Figure out it's IP address and then go to: Start->right click on Network->Map Network Drive...->fill in the Folder field (i.e. \\192.168.1.2 ) and presto you should see the login screen (admin/admin by default). It's not the best but works well enough. Hope that helps.
I need to know how to do a factory reset on a lacie 4Big Quadra enterprise.
- Disconnect all cables from the device.
- Press and hold the "reset" button (located on the rear panel) for about 10 seconds.
- Wait for the device to restart and initialize. This may take several minutes.
- Reconnect the cables to the device and try accessing it again.
Note: It's recommended to backup all data stored on the device before performing a factory reset, as all data will be lost during the reset process.
