The outlets that are used for Battery Back Up need a power cell that is recharged and ready to take over when a power situation requires action. If the battery no longer charges it must be replaced as the outlets will not have any power connection.

The alarm is sounding because you have a low DC Buss. The alarm will go alarm will go away once the DC buss is at the min. threshold. Your batteries may be getting weak. Think about replacing

It sounds like the actual battery inside the unit is starting to fail. It will still function as a power strip / surge protector, but will not function as a battery backup. You can get a replacement battery for this unit but it will end up costing more than a replacement unit altogether. For example you can get this equivalent battery back up for $43, no tax, and free shipping... Where a replacement battery for that unit is around $70...
I would recommend you replace it, and just use that APC unit as a power strip / .surge protector... but if you need battery backup get a replacement unit such as this one, the one for $43 I mentioned:

Try to change with new battery and test. if it does't work it could be the hardware is malfuntion. but that the lastsolution to think, what are the indicator light is stated? can u descibe more detail on the ups. so i can able to asst u?

well it could be your mosfet is leacking and some of the those traisitor is spoil check the black color of all the tranistor as well

I have my apc beeping all time with and with out battery,I need a solution. Thank..oscar

1) Switch Off the UPS and unplug all Loads (like System, Monitor etc.) from UPS.
2) Switch Off the AC Power (Input Power to UPS).
3) Press the UPS Power Switch constantly unless you hear 2nd BEEP Tone. As soon as you are hearing 2nd BEEP Tone, Release the Power Switch.
4) This is COLD START of all APC UPS that will reset any internal problem.
5) If, however, the problem persists, contact APC.

check whether the battery is functioning using a digital meter. If yes one of the Fets is not functioning.

Yes, you must run your phone line thru the BackUPS for it to properly protect telephone equipment!

Here is an answer I got from APC when one of my client got the same problem as you did:

The error message would pop up if the link between the computer and the UPS is weak. I cannot rule out a problem with the cable or the UPS. In order to confirm the same please try the following steps which might help :

1) Ensure that the USB cable is properly connected to the USB port of the computer.

2) If the PC was powered on before the UPS, communication will not be achieved until you disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to the host. In this case, you need to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to establish communication.

3) Some other software is polling your USB port for another device, thus causing the UPS software to temporarily lose communication with your UPS. If this is the case, you would need to shut down that application.

4) If you have any other USB devices connected to the PC, disconnect them and then try plugging in the cable.

you have to have the power rating rated in amps of the bed...if the rating of your bed and the system are same or even less than that..(i.e. the rating of television is less than that of computer monitor,so u can connect tv for long time than monitor when power goes off ) then u can surely use it.....but it ll provide the supply only till the back up is stored in the battery,when the power goes off
