Zorg ervoor dat de printer driver is geïnstalleerd op uw computer. Als printerdriver al is geïnstalleerd op uw computer, probeer bij te werken. U kunt downloaden en de Lexmark X5150 driver installeren door naar de Lexmark website op http://bit.ly/f3zsdZ. Selecteer uw besturingssysteem downloaden en uitvoeren van het bestand.
Als het probleem blijft, probeer dan de printer van uw computer los te koppelen. Herstart uw computer. Koppel en maak de de printer in het stopcontact om het te resetten. Wanneer de printer wordt ingeschakeld, sluit deze aan op uw computer. Wacht tot de computer volledig herkent de USB-verbinding voordat u opnieuw afdrukt.

No computer will recognize printer.

Hello.
This can be caused when the internal circuitry of the printer is "scrambled", it can happen in a storm or surge and simply after age.
Unfortunately there is no quick fix other than getting a tech to have a look, but that can be more expensive than a replacement.
You have done the trouble shooting for us and ruled out a cable issue.

Copy or pint document -

Try to reseat your cartridges in the printer. Open the printer cover and remove your cartridges. Close the cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges. Try to print or make a copy again.
If that doesn't help, try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if your other cartridges are faulty.

Cleaning the print cartridge nozzles
To improve print quality, you may need to clean the print cartridge nozzles.
Clean the nozzles when:
• Characters are not printing completely.
• White dashes appear in graphics or printed text.
• Print is smudged or too dark.
• Colors on print jobs are faded or they differ from the colors on the
screen.
• Vertical, straight lines are not smooth.

Using the operator panel
1 Load paper in the All-In-One. For help, see page 16.
2 Press Options until Cartridges appears on the display.
3 Press the right arrow until Clean appears on the display.
4 Press Select.
A nozzle page prints forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the
clogged nozzles.
5 Print your document again to verify your print quality has improved.
6 To further improve print quality, try wiping the print cartridge nozzles
and contacts (see page 44), and then print your document again.
7 If print quality has not improved, try cleaning the print cartridge
nozzles up to two more times.
Using the Lexmark X5100 Series Solution Center
1 Load plain paper in the All-In-One. For help, see page 16.
2 Click Start Programs Lexmark X5100 Series Lexmark X5100
Series Solution Center.
3 Click the Maintenance tab.
4 From the Maintenance tab, click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.
5 Click Print.
A nozzle page prints forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the
clogged nozzles.

Wiping the print cartridge nozzles and contacts
If the print quality does not improve after cleaning the print cartridge
nozzles, dried ink may be on the nozzles or contacts. To wipe the print
cartridge nozzles and contacts:
1 Remove the print cartridges. For help, see page 38.
2 Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with water.
3 Hold the cloth against the gold nozzle area for about three seconds.
Gently blot and wipe dry in one direction (this prevents the colors in
the color cartridge from mixing).
4 Hold a clean, damp section of cloth against the contacts for about
three seconds. Gently blot and wipe dry in one direction.

When I try to print.

It seems that your computer is not recognizing the printer even when it's hooked up. Make sure the cable is properly inserted into the printer and your computer. If you have another USB cable you can use, try that and see if it works.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Frequently, issues are caused simply by a break in the signal sent from PC to printer or vice versa. Unplugging and re-plugging the printer allows the small amount of on-board memory on the printer to be cleared, with the result that the PC recognizes the machine properly. Programs continuing to run in the background of the operating system (OS) can cause the signal to be lost. Rebooting the PC ends all programs that may be running and makes a 'clean' start, allowing the signal to be detected.

Try to clean the cartridge nozzles using the Lexmark Solution Center on your computer. Launch the application from All Programs > Lexmark 1200 Series Printer > Tools > Lexmark Solution Center. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal lines. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. Once done, try to print again and check if black is printing properly now. If that doesn't help, try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the other is fautly.

I have an error code

Check the encoder strip on the printer. (This is a clear strip running the length of the printer, above or behind the cartridge carrier.) Do the following:
1. Switch off the printer using the power button.
2. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the Lexmark X5100 / X6100 Series.
3. Leave the power cable disconnected for 30 seconds.
4. Slide the cartridge carrier to the middle of the printer by taking the top part of the belt and moving it gently to the right.
5. Take out both cartridges.
6. Place an index finger on the encoder strip on either side of the cartridge carrier.
7. On the back of the cartridge carrier, there is a small slot that the encoder strip fits into. Slightly push the encoder strip down and then back up to get it into the slot.
8. Lightly press the strip first to the rear and then forward, if necessary.
9. Clean the encoder strip with a dry tissue. Also clean the contacts of the printer.
10. Reconnect the power cable and switch the printer on again.
11. Perform the hardware test without cartridges first and then with both cartridges.*
12. Make a standalone copy.
13. If the copy is satisfactory, repeat the test once to confirm that the error is gone.



How to Perform the Hardware Test on the Lexmark X5150 ID:ENUS3744

Using the operator panel on the printer:
1. Press the Option button 10 times until Cartridges appears on the LED display.
2. Press the + button 4 times until Self test appears on the LED Display.
3. Press Select. The printer should print a sheet of paper with one black bar and one grey bar.
4. If the printer fails to print, remove both cartridges and try the test again. (It will feed the paper through and print a blank page.)
5. If the test works with no cartridges in the printer, run it again with one cartridge at a time installed.

I get a reading Device

Hello :)
It does sound a little odd doesn't it ? Large companies letting simple spelling mistakes get through in such prominent places, but i have noticed quite a few little errors like this slipping through.
As the item is having a problem, it may be best to detach the printer, uninstall the drivers and any applications that came with that printer, restart the computer, and restart again all from scratch.
As that kind of error report isn't seen a lot, most companies would never concern themselves with correcting a spelling mistake, it can cost far more than expected for a software engineer to make just one correction like that.
It's good that you noticed it though, as with many other kinds of software, it can indicate a cheaply created spyware or virus program pretending to be legitimate.

When I go to print my printer says Color cartridge

It may be a bad contact between the cartridges chip and the contacts inside the printer.
They can be cleaned very gently inside, by using a cotton bud, and suitable cleaning fluid, such as either foam spray cleaner, or a professional product like SERVICOL.
You will only need a tiny amount to clean off the contacts if that is the problem. they sometimes just get fussy when a small amount of ink residue, or dust, gets in the way.
If the ink is still reported as low, it may be an actual fault in the printer unfortunately, stopping it reading the ink amount correctly.
But by far the most common problem is just needing a clean inside.

Printer won't turn on and

hi

if the AC adapter is humming, refrain (stop) from using it !

the adapter is physically damaged and the internal transformer has been dropped several times to make such a noise.
you will have to purchase a new AC adapter, p/n should be and it should cost about $10-$15
