I have had the same problems on an XP configuration. You need to completely uninstall the Logitech drivers and first connect a wired keyboard.
Then reboot and follow the installation instructions for the Logitech keyboard/mouse combi. This probably means running the installer and then connecting the USB device.
It can actually take a few reboots before everything works, very annoying stuff.

Install the drivers for the keyboard and mouse (either from the included disc or Logitech's website) and then plug them in.

This is an older model keyboard by Logitech. There are newer wireless keyboards for less than $20 If it is the nano receiver, you cannot get a new one to be compatibble with your keyboard and mouse. The new Logitech keyboard and mice feature Unifying software that allow you to switch out keyboards/mice/cameras and other devices.

Connect the receiver to the computer. Make sure the keyboard & mouse have good batteries in them. Turn the mouse over and find the tiny button on the bottom and press it and hold it. Find the button on the bottom of the keyboard and press and hold it at the same time. Some systems have a third button on the receiver that connects to the pc, if this is the case with yours then depress all three buttons for twenty seconds or so to calibrate your system and your done.

go to logitech site/ support/ download driver. There insert your model number and the download link will arrive. download the driver, install it and enjoy.

Buy a new one.

Unfortunately some things don't mix (like electronics and water). You can try to dry it out more, let it sit upside down. Make sure you take the batteries out if you haven't already. If that doesn't work you will most likely need to replace it.
