One speaker doesn't work

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty or the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good or you might have to clean the dust from your computer dust causes static which causes your computer to overheat and all sorts of problems be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) hope this helps

I turn my speaker up

Hello Erindennison, Hard to tell, unless we check on several things, like test the speakers on other devices such as MP3 players or other speakers, I'll base my advice on the things you have said, If you plug in the speakers on an AC main and power it on, touch the tip of the input plug and place your ear close to the cone, you should hear a hum, if not a fuse or an open connection may be the cause so need to checked inside the speakers. go find an electronics technician guy to have this checked.

I have a 5.1 channel Insignia receiver that I'm

I am going to take a stab at this one because it is interesting and hopefully it will help you. I see there are possible two issues to solve here. Lets do a test,
Connect the Samsung, using the HDMI cable DIRECTLY to the the HDTV. See what happens.
The reason I say this is because the Insignia Receiver is probably at least two years old. There have been several levels of HDMI Standard implemented in the last several years. That leads me to believe that he Samsung menu option signal may not be compatible with your receiver. To clarify this, take a look at the link below. It refers to the different HDMI Standards. 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4. When your receiver was introduced, I believe it complied with the 1.2 HDMI standard.
Hope this helps, Happy New Year, Mark

Our Insignia Boombox does not

I hope you mean "label side up" since every boombox I have ever seen plays discs face down. If you are putting them in upside down, your CDs certainly won't be detected. However, maybe in yours the CD does need to go in that way.

If you are putting the discs in the right way, the lens on the laser pickup may be dirty. You can try a cleaning disc, but these often don't do any good. And in some multi-disc players they can even jam and cause damage. It's usually best to clean the lens with a cotton swab and lens cleaner.

Another possibility is that the pickup is just too worn out to play anymore. If this is a new problem and it's not because of dirt, the pickup may need to be replaced. Over time the laser power drops, and when it gets too weak there isn't enough light bouncing off the disc for the pickup to register it. Pickups are replaceable, but depending on the part cost and the work needed to get to it, it may be more economical to replace the boombox.

Dear Sir, I am installing some

Hello Michael

I will need more info on what you are working on. Could you possibly send me a picture of the mounting you have in mind , the speaker and the room where you want to install it to [email protected]. This would help a lot.

Basically installing stereo speakers is normally not a really big issue. You should avoid angeling the speakers in such a manner that the "line of audio" crosses each other.

stephansa.jpg

Normally the floor is a good option if it is a larger speaker as this will create a slight bass sound in the floor which will improve the fullness of the sound.

If the speakers are mounted on the wall , I would recommend not higher than what you can reach with your elbows with your arms stretched above your head. The speakers can be slightly tilted forward for better accoustics but be sure not to aim it lower than the floor on the other end of the room. Aiming it about 3 feet from the bottom of the opposite wall is a good general rule but it is affected by the size and dimentions of the room. For sterio sound , I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If you can get me some pictures I could send you some more recomendations. Let me know if you need more info.

Kind Regards

The charge doesn't last like

Ifthe battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

Recently bought insignia speakers for

A little more detail may be needed but first off I will provide you with some general information that may help

For laptops that provide more than one output for headphones and speakers make sure that they are plugged into the correct port. A quicj check can usually be done with MP3 player headphones to find the correct port

A rule of thumb is to plug them into the GREEN coloured port
Also ensure that the volume is turned up on the computer (assumes windows) by clicking on the speaker icon in the lower right toolbar.

For USB speakers make sure ithat the latest software is installed as they will quite often fail to work without this. (model of your speakers would be useful here)

If they are a powered type speaker then either make sure batteries are in correctly or that the power supply is in and working (usually indicated with a light on the speakers)

Some speakers use a PUSH to turn on the power as part of the volume control so make sure that is IN.

If you want to let me know the model of both the speakers and computer / laptop and maybe operating system I will try to help you a little more

I just purchased the 2.1

Verify the cables are hooked up correctly if one speaker works and the other one doesn't, usually that means a cable is not plugged in in the right spot or not in all the way. Also make sure if there is a balance knob that it is in the center.

What is the remote code for an Insignia NS-R2001

Here you can find all the manuals for all the Comcast remotes.
http://www.comcast.com/corporate/customers/customer_support/remotes.html
Open the one you have and look for the codes. Try them all. If you can't find Insignia codes or none of them work the your only other option is top do a Scan - maybe the code for another unit will work. If even this fails then your remote can't operate your receiver, you need another one.

I am trying to use a microphone with the Insignia

Check if the impedance of the microphone is the same of the microphone set-up slot. High impedances devices such as microphones have to match exactly between jack and input. Good Luck.
