If you have , you should be able to see other wifi hosts if there are any in the area.
To connect to them you need permission in the form of a password, if they secured.

How to use the range extender
For Belkin Range Extender, it will depend on how you are going to use it. If you are going to use as a "Wireless Range Extender", there is a push button on the device that will allow it to find wireless signals and configure itself with the wireless settings of the original access point on your network.
If you're going to use is as a "Wireless Access Point" you just simply need to plug it in to your wired router or switch.

Please try the following steps to check if there is any issue with TCP/IP protocol
TCP/IP protocol is resposible for getting IP address. You can determine if you have a TCP/IP problem by doing the following.
Put in the windows XP CD and navigate to the support >Tools folder. Double click setup and do a Complete install.
Click Start >run >cmd {enter}
Type netdiag /test:winsock /v {enter}
this will provide information if there is any problem in TCP/IP protocol due to winsock issue. If problem found then try the following steps
To Reset the Winsock Registry Entries
Click Start >Run >regedit {enter}
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock and delete it; just below that, see HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2 and delete it
Exit Regedit and reboot.
To Reinstall TCP/IP
To do this you need a copy of nettcpip.inf. There is one on the Windows XP CD and there may be one on your hard drive at C:\WINDOWS\inf\nettcpip.inf. Note: To see the inf folder, open My Computer and go to the menu item Tools > Folder Options... > View > and choose Show hidden files and folders.
Right click "My Network Places" select Properties.
Right click the connection(s) and select Properties.
Click Install >Protocol >add >have disk.
Browse to the location of nettcpip.inf .
Select nettcpip.inf then click Open then OK then Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then OK then Close
Reboot

Belkin f5d7010
Hi there, these cards can be alittle tricky to setup sometimes. firstly are you using the drivers on the cd that came with the product, or have you downloaded new ones from belkin? The reason i ask this is because there are many differnt models of the same card and the drivers have to be a perfect match. If you are using the original drivers then i would recommend removing the card, uninstalling the drivers and rebooting. then start the installation process again and remember DO NOT insert the card before you install the drivers as this can cause installation problems also.... hope this helps..
Lost install cd
