My router just stopped working. The internet

There can be several causes for this:

1. Check for power to the router which can be lost because of a loose DC plug or bad power brick.

2. Check the DSL or cable modem if it is working properly and can get you on line if directly plugged into your PC.

3. If any of the above are ok, then your router has just died. Routers have a high rate of failure so I won't be surprised if this was the case with yours.

I want to install my wii to my internet. I have a

the security key is your wep key you can get this buy going on the router itself. Follow this trouble shooting guide and if you need help or it still doesnt work follow up with a comment and i will assist you further. Please try the following troubleshooting: Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router? Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance) Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters). If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot. If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types: WPA - PSK (TKIP) WPA - PSK (AES) WPA2 - PSK (AES)
If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering: From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model). If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings). If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router. Click here to go to our Wireless Router lookup page. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer. Click on your router's model number, if available. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."

Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP configuration settings. To access these settings: On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run." Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.

Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them both from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then turn on the router. Try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response. if you require further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to assist you. -Midwest-tek

Wireless router dropping then disappeared

There are two possible generic reasons I have found in reviewing internet posts.

One claims there may be a windows issue with hiding the SSID (or router name) and enabling WEP or WPA secure/encrypted wireless connections and random disconnections of service to the wireless adapter. The recommended solution is not to hide the SSID (or router name) and maintain the WEP or WPA secure/encrypted service.

Another claims that there may be an "overload" of requirements on a specific wireless channel in your area (sometimes by non routers such as wireless phones). Many routers default to channel 6. I you have a wireless monitor on a PC that shows routers and their channel assignments nearby -- if everyone is on channel 6 you may want to move to channel 1 or 11 and see if your device works better. There are some wireless routers with capability for 108mbs transmission rates that actually transmit on two channels at once that could be affecting your response so if channel 1 does not work try channel 11 or vice versa.

There isn't anything on your computer that can help your iPod communicate better with your router. It's good to hear that your iPod can connect to the internet in other locations, but to be clear, it is through your friends' routers, not their computers. The first thing I would try is to delete any profile for your router and then power down your iPod completely. Once you're sure the power is off, restart the iPod and search for your router. Enter any necessary passwords or keys and see if that works. If not, you can then try upgrading the firmware of your router to see if that helps. Finally, you can disable any secured wireless networking and check to see that you can connect. Assuming that works, add back the security being sure to enter the exact same information in both your iPod and router.

I have forgotten th password for my router belkin

Are you speaking about the password of the router or the password of the wireless network ?
If you don't know the password of the router , then you will need to reset the router and use the default password of the router.
Once you reset the router, you will need to reconfigure it.
If you are looking for the wireless password, you can find it on the set up page of the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router.

Itouch says connected to router but not to internet

I had exactly the same problem with a brand new 3rd gen iTouch. It showed it was connected to the network but wouldn't access anything (invalid argument etc). I tried everything but no joy. Eventually I fixed it by changing the router's encryption from WEP to WPA2-PSK. Fixed it like magic. Where there had been no router or DNA data before, they were suddenly filled in. The key was different but was still on the bottom of the router. I had to re-enter the key on my wireless laptop2_bing.gif but that was a small price.

You can get into the router set-up page through your web browser. I found a guide on You Tube.

Good luck!

Why is my computer unable to load various drivers?

The driver is NOT digitally signed so in actual fact they indeed are NOT being installed. You will have to turn of the check digital signature by pressing F8 at Bootup and selecting it. Then you can install it. Install as Administrator, Set the install .exe & run .exe, to Compatability Mode for XP SP 2. You WILL have to press F8 each and every time you boot otherwise Vista will "Block" the driver from loading. There is NO real workaround.

I put a password on my router and I don't remember

You can reset the Belkin back to the factory default by powering up the Belkin and pressing the RESET button for 7secs.
Then open a browser and enter the configuration URL and login.
You can then change the router's password and the wireless settings, also the wireless cards in the computer/laptop will need to be configured with the router's wireless settings.
