The server connection could not be established or was terminated early. PLease try again later. Trying to play Pandora on TX-NR609

You didn't say if you were using their wireless "dongle" or an ethernet connection. If ethernet try to connect another device - laptop, blu-ray or etc to see if you're getting a good modem signal. You might try re-setting the ethernet connection on your 609. I'm assuming your audio is working, Onkyo had a lot of trouble with their HDMI cards, for some reason the defect usually took out the audio and ability to connect to the web. Onkyo had a recall on 609s and they will repair the defect, free of charge or shipping. (In a range of serial numbers that, unfortunately, I do not know.) I took mine to a local repair shop and they told me it was recalled. It was about a year out of warranty but they fixed it.

No sound

It's been several months since the original post but : The HDMI board on several different models of Onkyo receivers were defective. There was a recall on these receivers and Onkyo might fix them for free, even if the receiver is out of warranty.

Onkyo TXNR-609 intermittently turning itself off

Hi, there is no need for entering any serial numbers for factory reset. For hard reset press and hold VCR/DVR botton then press ON/STANDBY,secound later on the display should say CLEAR . So now you receiver is back to factory settings. If that works great if not try Firmware update for your model ,and if that failes

try unpluging all your speakers ,and try connecting your USB,CAB/STA or what ever you want(speakers unplaged). Btw dont forget trying different cabels. Last if all dont help you should contact ONKYO Servise/dealship.Hope ti helped you with your problem .

Receiver will not turn on and is making a clicking sound TX-NR 609

This is the same problem i've had with my POS nr609. I will never buy Onkyo again.. Everyone warned me about the poor quality.. This thing worked for a year and a half, blew the amp., replaced and now another year and a half, f'd again. Save your time, buy a Denon or a Harmon Kardon. Better quality, same features.. Cant get tv audio through receiver directly (without satallite, Game, DVD connection)

If your TV doesn't support audio return channel (ARC, which is your TV audio routed back to the receiver through the same HDMI cable), you then need to connect your television audio-out to your Onkyo TV audio input, using a digital cable or an analog one according to the connections on the back of your TV. If you use a digital connection (optical or coaxial), make sure you have the proper digital port assigned to TV on the onkyo I/O assign menu/digital inputs. In case your TV does support ARC, you need to activate it in the Onkyo's hardware/HDMI setup menu, either by turning on HDMI control (tv or receiver control each other via cable), or by turning ARC on (you'd probably need to activate ARC on your TV as well).Hope this help,M G

0-83 error on onkyo tx nr 555

The 0-83 error indicates a problem with the firmware update. Try resetting the receiver's BIOS by following these steps2: Unplug all cables Un-Power the receiver Power the receiver Before the receiver gets into the "Enter for updating" message, press Tone + CBL/SAT + ON/STANDBY. This will show you either the volume numbers or get you into settings of the receiver's speaker configuration. Press CBL/SAT + ON/STANDBY. This will clear the BIOS and show a "Clear" message on the display. Wait until you hear a couple of clicking sounds for the receiver to turn on and off the power. Onkyo skw 591 subwoofer...blue light is on and no sound? any thoughts?

Hello, To test the subwoofer when the blue light is on if you apply your thumb to the end of the subwoofer cable (the end that you would plug into the receiver) there should be feedback from the sub. If there is no feedback then the sub is not working correctly. Thanks, FJD
