Hello there i get the idea that you want your laptop to connect to the internet but i didnt want to underestimate the situation so i thought you might want it to connect to a local area network or something so i cant really help you unless i find out what you want your laptop to connect to. It depends. Not kidding! Depending upon the available hardware and access to the wireless router, it could be as simple as examining the outside of the router and reading the network key off of a label on the router. failing that, you would likely need to have an ethernet cable that you can use to connect directly to a port on the router. Note that not many routers will allow access to the configuration through the wireless connection. You might be able to get to the smart part of the router by then using your browser. You can usually find the router manual on the internet to get the default IP and admin password to access the configuration. If nobody changed the configuration, then just getting access to the configuration should display the wireless key. If this router is on your own network and you've forgotten the password, and you want to add some equipment, then consider resetting the router to factory settings, and default SSID and key. Check your manual, but usually putting a toothpick into the tiny hole and holding it for a number of seconds will cause the router to reset. Once the router resets, you can access the configuration and set your password and SSID to what you want. You'll then need to configure all your other equipment with the network name and key. Even if you have a PC that does talk on the network with the router now, you probably won't get the PC to show you the key for the network in the clear.

reboot your router fully depower it for atleast 30 seconds if that does not work after it reboots then redo your wifi settings

that depends what type of battery you are using, how much time and length of time, some keyboard will run the battery down faster than others, keyboard maybe needs taken apart and cleaned, check the connection in the battery compartment checking for crouching. keyboard maybe getting warning out.

It should get an IP address automatically. Is the router configured for internet ? Is there a device thats already connected to the internet with this router ?

1. Connect your computer to the router with a cable
2. Turn off wifi if its a laptop
3. Open router setup page by typing http://192.168.2.1
4. On the left under Utilities Click System Settings
5. Leave the password blank and click submit
6. And here leave the current password blank, Create a new password and confirm it
7. Save the changes

You need to access your router IP page to change frequency channels, the default IP page address is 192.168.2.1.. Open a web browser and type that address into the url, that should take you to your routers IP page. There are many settings in there you don't want to mess with if you don't know what they mean, now scroll down to wireless settings after gaining access into your router. There you will find channel options, I'd pick channel 11 also if you have a smart phone you can download an app of the google play store called WiFi analyzer. In that app it will show you how crowded channels are around you, most are on channel 1,6.

Connect to the router via a cable. Open CMD (command) prompt and type: iconfig you will see a default gateway listed - write the ip address down. Open internet explorer and enter the gateway address into the address bar. Should open a web page to configure the router. You may have to provide a password.
