Depending upon the available hardware and access to the wireless router, it could be as simple as examining the outside of the router and reading the network key off of a label on the router. failing that, you would likely need to have an ethernet cable that you can use to connect directly to a port on the router. Note that not many routers will allow access to the configuration through the wireless connection. You might be able to get to the smart part of the router by then using your browser. You can usually find the router manual on the internet to get the default IP and admin password to access the configuration. If nobody changed the configuration, then just getting access to the configuration should display the wireless key. If this router is on your own network and you've forgotten the password, and you want to add some equipment, then consider resetting the router to factory settings, and default SSID and key. Check your manual, but usually putting a toothpick into the tiny hole and holding it for a number of seconds will cause the router to reset. Once the router resets, you can access the configuration and set your password and SSID to what you want. You'll then need to configure all your other equipment with the network name and key. Even if you have a PC that does talk on the network with the router now, you probably won't get the PC to show you the key for the network in the clear.
