Your set may have a defective wi fi detection circuit that is causing all the grief. I had to return a laptop for this reason. Maybe the signal is weak - try raising the router as high as possible off the floor and also try putting a deflector behind the router to direct the signals in the direction of tv set to maximize strength.

I haven't had that trouble but I just wanted to mention some of the WLAN analyser apps can be quite useful.

Unfortunately wireless routers fail somewhere after the warranty runs out. I have never gotten 5 years out of a router by any different manufacturers. Nothing in the settings except for the hours of operation will stop the router from working. If you have never made the time settings, then the router has failed internally.

Have you gotten the latest driver for the Belkin? How far is the Belkin from the router. Use the cable and base with the Belkin and put it as close to the ceiling as you can. If the router is on the floor or on the desk, relocate it to a higher location.

Does the surge protector have a "in and out" phone socket? Plug everything into the "out" side and then run a "phone wire" from the "in" side into the wall socket,.. you should be protected.. You are putting "all your stuff" after the surge protector.. so the surge protector can do its job..

Try opening the Network Control Panel on the MacBook. Select the TCP/IP tab, then click Advanced. Note the list of IP address numbers. Click the "Renew DHCP Lease" button and see what changed. Most likely all of them did, in particular the "Internet Gateway" and "DNS server" addresses. The first is the connection between the D-Link router and your ISP, and the other addresses are for servers that translate your web browser URLs into the IP addresses for the web sites you want to see. The Gateway and DNS server addresses have to match those in the upstream router(s). The routers must have current IP addresses assigned by the routers upstream, and any client computer must have a current address assigned by the first route upstream. You can check into this by logging in to the webpages for your routers and examining the status reports. Apparently one of the devices in the chain fails to obtain a new IP address when the D-Link router is powered on. I suspect it is the Belkin router. A computer with an expired DHCP lease will probably be using the Internet gateway IP address assigned to the D-Link router when it was on before (in a busy neighborhood, that address would have been re-assigned to some other household). The Windows system may be sending a request for DHCP renewal up the line, which triggers the Belkin router to ask for the same from the D-Link unit, but it may be ignoring the signal from the MacBook or not getting one. If the MacBook successfully gets online with a manual Renew DHCP Lease request, obtain the owner's manual for your Belkin router (find the model number, then go to the Belkin support/downloads page for that model). See what settings are available to automate the DHCP renewal process.

Please check the Network Range B/G/N Signal. This could be the issue if other aplications are able to connect. Also try to delete Wifi Profiles using the USB and add fresh wifi networks If not in install & reinstall the the USB Software on ur pc / laptop Lastly if this doesnt work try to use the USB Adapter on another network / other device and try to connect If it doesnt then u have a USB Issue Cheers Eddie

If this is a Belkin N300 router the default username and password will be the following : Username: admin With one of the following passwords : Password: password Alt. Password: 1234 Alt. Password: 12345 If you have ever changed the username/password and have forgotten them, you can reset to default by following below procedure (This will reset all settings to factory defaults) : Press and hold the "Reset" button for at least 10 seconds, and then release it. The lights on the Router will momentarily flash. The "Router" light will begin to blink. When the "Router" light becomes solid again, the restore is complete.

Just change the BIOS from IDE to SATA, that's all I did.

When we plug in any USB hard drive or printer, sometimes in this router it will not show the light but the hard driver/printer will be getting deducted.

But if its not getting deducted, then follow these steps,

1. Open up the internet explorer in the comp in which you are online and clear the address bar and type in the number 192.168.2.1 and hit enter. You will be logged into the Belkin router setup page.

2. In the left hand side click on Firewall , when its asking for the password to login, leave the password as blank and click on submit

3. You will find the firewall: ENABLED, change it to DISABLED and click on apply changes.

4. Then power cycle the router for 30 sec (Unplug the power cable of the router and plug it back in after 30 sec)

5. See whether the hard drive/printer is getting deducted even if there is no light for the USB in the back of the router.

6. Still if its not getting deducted, then disable the Firewall in your computer (Windows and other third party firewall like NORTON, SPYWARE, or other antivirus software.)

7. If still if its not getting deducted, Uninstall the Belkin router Monitor software from the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and then reinstall it using the CD.

8. Right click on the Belkin Belkin router Monitor icon on the lower right bottom corner in the task bar and click on CONNECTED USB DEVICES.

It will be deducted, if not the its obvious the router USB slot is defective. Replace the router in the stores if you have bought it within 30 days or contact BELKIN technical support 1 800 2235546(toll free) and get your router replaced.

If you are asking what the default credentials are to log into the admin panel of the router, then the options are below. Default usernames: admin, Admin, [blank] Default passwords: admin, password, [blank] If you are asking for the Wi-Fi password, that is unique to the user who initially set it up. You can reset the router but following the manufacturer instructions and holding the reset button down in the back. This will erase all settings on the router.

to get to the set up page open the search page ( google or the like ) and type in 192.168.2.1 and that will open up the access to the router settings when entering the router /modem code ( from the back of the unit ), you have to enter it exactly as it is case and number specific things like o O 0 ( o is little letter o, O is capital letter o and 0 is number zero) are a source of problems because the lettering is small and confusing so enter what you think it is , then again with the change and again if still not connecting you may have to get the unit manufacturer or service provider to give you the figures for the settings after you get the page open

Is it in direct sunlight? If yes move it into fully shaded area.

The blinking orange power light suggests that there is a problem with your modem. The modem should be plugged into the top ethernet port of your router. Try turning off your modem for 10 seconds and then turning it back on.
