If you simple have the air go right thru each time you pump it, there is a little o-ring between barrel and the chamber, probably the one that needs replaced. Call Crosman and order by phone or go on-line.

Usually a 35cent seal that is now more because of shipping, call Crosman # in your manual or find at their web site.

I hear that the ammo has alot to do with that. .BB on a unrifled barrel gun are not as good as pellets. Lead pellets ride on the rifling in the barrel. And also your sites could be out of line. One man took the inner barrel out of the outer barrel and bent it over his knee slighty.His rifle was shooting high. On his daisy model # 880 Powerline.. not at all. the Benjamin has a pump handle like the rack of a shot gun below the barrel. the Crossman 3100 the barrel is what you **** the round in with. the Benjamin shoots pellets and bb's the Crosman only shoots bb's

It is considered advisable to photograph each step when dis-assembling any mechanism. Have you contacted the mfr, or looked on their website for a service manual ?

They are only 15 dollars to buy new. With that in mind you could attempt to rebuild it but you need at least a micrometer to measure clearances. The pictures that I am looking at show a fiber retainer and a washer seal unit. You need to see if you can get those parts individually. The fiber washer may soften if you wet it and this would make it easier to insert it because the edge of the case appears tapered. However if you do that you need to be able to dry it in its original dimension.
