My canon 20D autofocus doesn't work...
can you
Make sure your camera is set to Auto mode (top left knob). Check your lens and make sure it is switched to "auto" and not "manual"(sliding switch near base of lens). Make sure your lens can rotate and move without being obstructed. Clean the lens contact by removing the lens and use 99% alcohol or lens cleaner sparingly to clean off the metal contacts.
You can also check your viewfinder focus, it has a small dial upper right, that you can fine tune to focus to your own eyesight. If it is way off, your view will always appear to be out of focus.
Hope that helps.
Err 02
Have you tried reformatting the card (full, not quick, format) in your computer? This will require you to have a CF reader, but they're so handy you should have one anyway.
Canon 20D. Says "Err
Error 99 is a result of an electronic communication problem normally between the lens and the camera body.
Use a red pencil eraser to "polish" the contacts even if they look clean do it again.
Take care to keep dirt out of the camera and lens bodies.
Another thing is often times the camera firmware needs to be updated to move on from this.
Another thing is the CF cards? The 20D was in an era where pretty well the larges CF card was a 2gig,I use several 1gig however if you have updated your cards to say an 8gig the firmware just can't handle the card.
Okay moving on clean the lens and body, update firmware, make sure the CF card isn't beyond the camera capabilities and last if all that stuff didn't work the it's possible the actual sensor is really dirty and needs cleaning.
The worst case scenario is that the shutter has failed. The Canon 20D is only good for 60,000 actuation's.
Hope this give you a few options
Hi, my 20D is showing
The error is with the CF card....you formatted it in the computer instead of in the camera.

Hi,
Remove the batteries from the camera, wait a few minutes. Put a fresh set of batteries back in and turn the camera on.If this did not work then.
The helical threads inside the camera probably got bent to the point that it won't work anymore.
You need to get repaired .
Hope this helps.

I just received the canon EF 100-400m lens for
I've had this happen right in the middle of a shoot, what I found first was that I had pushed the lens release button and the lens moved ever so slightly but enough to mess up the connections and everything went dead. Another thing is not having the battery at a full charged but if it's not coming on at all I'd be checking the battery door make sure it's latched securely. Next make sure the Card is down and locked in the seat and the card door is closed and locked. Clean the contacts on the camera body and lens (this generally gives an error 99 though) with a red soft pencil eraser keep the lens as vertical as possible when lightly cleaning (polishing) the lens contacts. Keep the lens cavity pointing down as much as possible while cleaning (polishing) the body contacts another thing and my 20D is coming due for this as well is a back up battery this replacement is found on page 35 of your manual Oops not manual here is a diagram

I have a Canon 20D in my fleet and have used 1 gig card in it almost exclusively however I did use a 2gig and a 4gig when shooting RAW + jpg. I would think that you haven't formatted the card for the camera even if it's a new card and has never been used you need to format the card to the camera you are going to use it in.
Images are blurry through my view finder, my
There is a small knob or lever to adjust the viewfinder lens dioptric focus to suit your eye. It probably got turned by mistake to a setting unsuitable for your vision. If you wear contacts make sure you have them on before you do the adjustment. Glasses usually block the view but it is up to you whether you wish to make the viewfinder adjustment with them on or off. See page 38 here:

Consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
