SD cards max out at 2GB. The S2 will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

The camera will not deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers across them. However the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Hi Mr JosekuttyI guess the problem with the shutter unit . the diaphram (aperture) is not working and the camera is unable to control the light input to the censor.( The aperture is in wide open condition. You have to replace or repair the same.rgdsWilson

I don't understand are you looking through the eyepiece those slr camera wont show it on the screen

The image lcd will darken when strong sunlight or bright light.This imagen occurrence is normal in device CCDs and not constituye abnormal function.However you must determine is the LCD is faulty or normalsee the diagram attached.God bless you

What happens when you use the auto setting, have you tried to reset camera to the default factory settings ?

This is generally due to a light censor failure and will require a service tech. Not a home fix.

Ruth this sounds like the CCD unit went bad, have a camera tech take a quick look at it to find out for sure.

Look at your memory card. SD/SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

with the camera upside down. slide the latch to the right, with the same motion slide the door to the front of the camera. I had to gently pry the door to move a little. you might find that there are no batteries currantly in it. thats the way i did mine. good luck your on your own.

This might be a stuck shutter, something that the S2 IS is notorious for. Has the camera been sitting unused for a long time? If so, see this link for some troubleshooting steps that you can try.

The S2 works with SD cards, 2GB and smaller. It does not work with SDHC cards.

Some digital cameras seem to eat batteries(mine included) I had a little better luck with the batteries that say "For digital cameras" (something like lithium technology or something).
