18 HP V-TWIN GX610 V-Twin OHV Horizontal Shaft - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Engine will go dead when you idle it down slow enough to put it in gear
Not sure what you asking..but by what you are saying the carb idle speed control needs adjusted..there should be two adjustment screws on the carb..one in the middle where it hooks to the motor it is the mixture screw do not adujust..the other is located where the throttle linkage hooks to the carb..adjust that one while the engine is running and out of gear..to the right adds speed the left backs it off...adjust to an idle speed that will allow you to operate the clutch..and put in gear..just make sure it isn't one of the safety switches that is not letting you put it in gear..good luck.

I keep popping 25 amp fuse when trying to start honda GX610 18 hp gas engine on 3100 Stone Wolf pac roller
if the fuse pops when turning to crank position the problem lies within the small solenoid wire to the starter (this wire goes from the ign.switch to the starter solenoid and is powered up when in the start position) this wire is shorted to ground....or the starter solenoid is shorted....best way to tell is unhook wire from solenoid and turn key to start...if the fuse does not pop its the solenoid....do this several times to verify

Looking for engine Number on 18 HP Vtwin
If there's no tag/tab with the #s on the engine, go to the unit it came off of and the tag for them would be under the seat with model and serial numbers. and year of mfg.

My engine keeps spilling fuel out of a fuel hose
This is more than likely caused by the float sticking in the open position. I would remove the fuel supply hose form the carb, after gently pinching the hose shut with a pair of needle nose locking pliers (like Vise Grips). Next, drain the float bowl and retighten the screw. Then get another piece of hose the same diameter about 4-6" long and put it on the carb nipple. Next, get a can of carb & choke cleaner, (I use the O'Reilly brand but most brands will work) and slowly and gently press on the nozzle with the end of the straw barely inside the small piece of hose until it is full. Be careful not to back-spray into your face! Let it stand about 15 - 20 minutes then reattach the original hose and un-crimp it. Now try to start it and run it for about 1 minute or so then shut it down and watch to see if it stopped leaking. This usually works for me. Good luck.

Gx610 Honda v-twin small engine one side want fire
Hi, If you did the usual testing (comp,Carb cleaning, etc.) then I would go to the electronic ignition box if it has one. I've been fooled before. Checking for spark, wire off, or plug out, isn't the same as a plug under compression , Good luck.
