Panasonic VIERA TC-P55ST50 55 in. 3D Plasma HDTV Questions & Answers
I have a blown transistor in Plasma TV. Should I replace just the damaged part or replace 15 parts included in ShopJimmy repair kit?
The parts that referers almost alltimes in A set capacitors and resistors and sometimes diodes IF a transistor was shorted , allways use the KIT BUT look for a Service manual and observe the FUSE RESISTORS ON ANY STAGE . The most important thing is to measure the voltage on the testpoints a little tolerance can be there but resistors can be looking 100% but (one of the) the endcaps can be intermittend. thats why you should allways get a service kit , its can be enough but the cause is where it depends on the power supply or used capacitors . A little hint is to oversize the value with at least 6 until 15 volt , depending on the used dc that come out of the board (if example 25mf 10Volt comes out replace with 25mf 16V if the size will fit. if the capacitors are having a mountable size to soldering on the circuitboard.Beware this only an example suggestion what i mean http://www.electronicrepairguide.com/dell-e151fp-lcd-monitor-repair.html
Can I use a Bluetooth adapter with this set?
This VIERA model does not include Bluetooth. You CANNOT use a Bluetooth adapter with it via the TV's USB port, because the TV does not have the internal software to work with your adapter. It's a TV, not a computer!
On HDMI settings, how to use cc
Unfortunately, the HDMI standard does not carry the CC digital information, for any TV to decode and display it on its own. Therefore, when watching HDMI source the CC button on the TV's own remote, cannot work.
However, each Cable, Satellite or Internet streaming device can decode the CC information from the source (when available). Then the CC text is inserted into the picture and sent to the TV via HDMI or any other video connection.
Look for CC option on your Cable's or Satellite's remote control, or on the source device's menus.
No picture no sound just blinking red light blinks 8 times I tried unpluging for 5 min but no go
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

No power at all after an power outage
Before you investigate the TV and its power supply, have you confirmed that the outlet is still delivering the voltage? Sorry if I ask but you said you turned everything back on after the power failure and I didn't know if you meant equipment in the house or all circuit breakers in the house.
What board should I change
Three blinks of the power LED indicates an over-current or over-voltage condition in one of the DC supplies of the AP board. The AP board is repairable. Therefore the use of an ohmmeter and peak-hold-voltmeter is required to determine the cause of the shutdown. An over-voltage condition is definitely a defect of the AP board. An over-current condition may be due to a short circuit located in the AP board, A board, or the LCD panel.
Panasonic Viera tc-p65s2 - 7 blinks, won't turn on
I had the same problem with my Viera. if you disconnect the power and ribbon cable from the YSUS board (check youtube for how), the light led will blink 6 times, indicating the YSUS is bad. Check ebay for TNPA5175 board (about $115-160). The pop is one of the DG402RP chips burnout. These are about $4, but only available from China. If you can wait a month for delivery, you can solder the new one to replace the bad one. You may want to purchase several in case more are bad or it happens again.
