Hello Sambicho. The a1b2c3 may be the 'password reset' code after which you must enter YOUR original password, which it hopefully still has stored in it's memory. Otherwise the 'someone' may have changed the user password. Hope this is helpful. FYI: passwords are case-sensitive.

Freezed SX66 at the initiation Windows page

Hi there,

This could be an internal problem on the device, cause of instant shock cause of dropping it. You better try to remove the battery for a while to reset and restore the system.

If the above recommendation did not solve the issue, try to remove the memory card, if still not working try to update the firmware of your unit.

Let me know here again for the update.

Bought the phone off of ebay. Need to know how to

Every phone ships with a factory reset option. Check out the settings for Factory Reset. This will remove all data on the mobile and will revert it back to the settings as when it was when bought.

Unlocked SX66 - Can't connect to internet

The first thing to do is make sure that the wireless router allows for the same Network Autentication. Depending on your wireless router you might have to check your user manual, but the trick here is to set the autentication "WPA-TKIP" on your wireless router, then set a custom key for for acces, once that is done, open the Wireless Manager by taping on the little blue anterna next to the bluetooth manager, is on the bottom right corner of your device, chek the "on" box, on the same screen tap once on the "Tools" menu, bottom left of the screen, next tap on  "Network Cards" there you should be able to see the network you want to access, if not, add the name of the network you just changed a few moments ago, if you don;t know the name of the network, go back to you'r wireless router set-up page, and change the pre-set name to something you remember, next select the "Connects to: internet" option", next tap on "Network key" tab at the bottom of the screen, set the Autentication: "WAP-PSK" and Data Encryption to  "TKIP", and finally input the custom network key you created earlier on the router set-up page.
Note: as far as I know there is a diference of the level of secitity the the 2 diferent data encryption type provide, and i think WPA is Older and most new wireless routers have WEP, or WEP 2, but if you live in a residential neiborghood and your router range is say 200 feet you only have to worry about ur immediate neigbors craking the network key using high tech sofware, to get to use ur wireless signal.

Phone keeps rebooting

is the button near the reset hole? possibly the button is somehow pressing the reset switch, possibly stuck somehow. Other than that try a hard reset, instructions below.
Soft Reset
Put your stylus in the hole in the lower left corner where it says “Reset” Soft Reset will reboot your device just like when you reboot your PC. No data will be lost, under normal circumstances that is.

Hard Reset
Hold down the Power button (Top Right corner) and at the same time put your Stylus pen in the hole where it says “Reset” (Lower Left corner).
Hard Reset will delete all data you have put on the device, Programs, Settings, Mail, SMS, MMS, etc., so be careful and make a backup before doing this.
After a hard reset, you will have a complete clean new install of Windows Mobile on your device.

Things that are not deleted
  • Data on \Storage Card
  • Data in \Storage folder

Sx66 won't read my sim card

Try www.xda-developers.com and ebay for ROM upgrades. There are many people who unlock these kinds of devices. I don't believe you can upgrade it to WM 5.0 or beyond, but that may be possible. The best bet is a newer version of PPC 2003.

The process is relatively simple. Once you have your ROM on CD or via download, You run it with your device hooked up to your PC via cable/cradle and connected via ActiveSync (3.7 or later). The warning is an improper ROM load could make your device unusable. It is a risk you have to take if you want it to make calls. Toss up: no phone Pocket PC, pocket PC phone, or shiny brick. If the XDA site has recommendations on a ROM source, they are not likely to steer you wrong. They will state emphatically, that you do not want any interruptions in the ROM upgrade process. If you have a power outage or something shuts off for any reason, you will have the shiny brick and be looking for a new device.

Won't turn on phone.

I would recommend using Pocket PC 2003 version instead. WM 5 or 6 may have significant issues with phone compatibility. If you can go back to 2003 and the phone still doesn't work there may be a hardware issue, then you need to replace or repair. Replace is usually the better option. Search ebay.com if that is what you need.

Below, instrutctions on getting ROM for PPC 2003:

Screen

Open the Back Cover.. remove the Battery, Simcard, Memory Card and then leave it open for 1 minute.
Put the battery back, start your device then if you get the same message you need to update the firmware...
In the worst scenarios, your Siemens SX66 has a corrupt ROM and need to be fixed as in "Hardware"... which can be done by a Siemes expert.

Good Luck
