Marantz NR1602 - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Hi
I have the amplifier marantz 2250 to power up the fuse break. Let me ask how that was done, and how to fix it, how much money
Fuses blow due to an overload, in amps it will be caused most likely by a short in the main power amp section. Probably one or more devices mounted on the main heat sink. The cause is often speaker cables that have shorted, or faulty speakers.
The cost can be estimated by taking of the top cover of the unit. This should show the devices on the heat sink. If you see any burnt or damaged they have to be replaced. Each device will have a number on it. If you put the number into a search engine it should find the price of the part. Then you only have to see want they want for labour costs.
What is the "processor" in & Out function on the Marantz PM-68?
Some amps offer the entire signal out, to a processor, like a sub woofer. That system will shave the parts of the signal that it needs, ans passes the rest back to the amp for it to process. Your amp will not have to contend with the burden of processing the removed portion of the signal. Supposed to be more efficient and "truer".
Marantz 4400 Distortion and scope adjustment issues.
The unit will need servicing, I would not recommend you poking around with the scope circuity as there is up to 580v there and it will ring your bell. I have worked on several 4400's and nursed them back to good health.
