possibly the diode is shorting. replace the diode before replacing the fuse

replace fuse by transformer if it had one or check diode it could be the cap ifit does not work replace magnetron good luck

It's my understanding that aluminum foil can reflect the RF energy back into the magnetron and causing it to overload and fail. If the oven turns on but does not heat the food, you can just about bet the magnetron is shot.

Check the microwave fuse. It is in a plastic fuse casing on a wire. The fuse is about 1/8 dia x 2inch. Be sure to replace it with exactly the same rating.

Thermistor it the top of the oven.. it get hot and the wires melt off.. when they go open the oven won't work

Quite often this is due to grease or food particles stuck somewhere in the cavity of the oven or stuck on or behind the waveguide cover. It may also be in the area of the turntable support, coupler, or motor.

remove the button cover and clean beneath the buttons and remove all accumulated dirt that likely causes the failure.

Well does it seem to be necessary in order for the microwave to work? If it doesn't, I think it is fine.

Let me just say that you can get charcoal like is in most water and air filters in the aquarium section of pet supply stores. Don't know what it's housed in, but if it's possible, take apart the old one and see if you can clean the enclosure somehow. Or modify a replacement.

it may be an internal fuse that popped. try a lamp or something in the outlet. if that's ok, it's probably a fuse inside the microwave.

If i ever had a microwave oven where the door hung i would toss it. I would repair almost any other thing.
