if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it

right click to install driver also

Humming sounds only on creative
You could be affected by an earth loop.
This occurs when the computer is connected to one power point and the Creative Lab speakers are connected to a different power point.
To fix this problem, connect a power board to the power point and then connect the computer and Creative Lab speakers to the power board and any other computer components.
Corded volume control up and down in volume by itself
I have/had the same problem. Frustrated with the lack of even a make shift solution on the internet I took matters into my own hands. This is a partial solution (as completely fixing it would likely require taking it apart and replacing parts, soldering, etc.) and it might not work for everyone.
Here's what I did...
I cut a small piece of paper a little over 1 inch long and about 1.5 cm wide. I folded it vertically and, using tweezers, wedged it into the space between the dial knob and the surrounding grey plastic. Picture here -> http://imgur.com/8roA2.jpg
It increases the friction between the knob and the plastic and since I've done it I haven't had the random volume jumps. Hope it works! If it does, spread the word because I know a lot of people have this issue.

Good day sir, hi, yes you can buy the replacement for that switch, take a picture of that switch using any camera phone, or if the speaker is not that heavy, bring it to your local electronics shop.
No sound other than Windows Media.
Hello there,
If is windows XP? or Vista? depending on the system, verify new updates for drivers, on the REALTEK page and specific for your computer. Another thing is view in the control panel , multimedia and sounds, if nothing is disable or mute. And up volume.
finally, verify in BIOS , if onboard audio es ENABLE. look in the Motherboard Manual for this. **
good luck!

No problem just a question
No Sir, usually its not a good practice.
If you got a Home Multimedia Speaker Unit, then let me tell you that there are different crossovers in the woofer unit that filter the frequencies and the speaker/tweeters provided to you to pin them up there on the ports are designed in such a way to give maximum quality/sound under that specific crossover.
So hooking a big speaker into those ports, will not be of no use.
If i was helpfull, kindly do Rate!
Humminf sound from subwoofer
Most humming sounds in speakers is due to electrical currents or wifi signals nearby the speakers.
Do you have any electrical cables near the speakers? Do you have any wifi device near the speakers?
If so move them out/away and see if there is any difference.
