Modem and d link
Hello there,
Your internet connection should be setup properly in order for the router to give connectivity to both your computer.
You must contact your ISP and ask them for the IP's and put it in the router.
Cannot share connection
The IP address that you have is an automatic IP address the Windows generates. It basically means your computer is not getting an IP address from the router (DHCP). You should try powering everything off. Then, in this order, power on your modem, wait 30 seconds, then, power on your router, wait 30 seconds, then power on your computers...This should fix the problem since one computer is working already.
Cant share internet using a router
Hi There, what model of dlink router do you have?
Also, Or just check the ports you have in your router, the internet should be connected to the WAN port and the switch and/or computers to the LAN port(s).
If the router is new by default you should be able to access internet by plug everything the way I told you.
Also, by default the router ip address should be 192.168.1.1, type that into your web browser address bar, then you will have access to the router admin web page were you can see the status page, there will tell you if you have or not access to Internet really. Maybe the problem is that the router have no access internet access at all.
SMC
you can, it woudl take a little custom configuring but it can be done. dont hook up the main router to the wan connection, only use the 4 port to interconnect the router to this appliance. you also need to static assign the same ip address mask as the rest of your network. then the router dhcp would pass dhcp requests as u are requesting.
Password
To expand on Curly's solution: There is a small pinhole on the back of the router near the power connection. To reset the router to all its factory defaults (including resetting the admin password) make sure the router is ON (the power light is on) and, using a paperclip, push the tiny button inside the pinhole for about 10 seconds. Then, when you log into the router, the userid will be admin and there will be NO password. Just hit return. That should do it. I strongly recommend setting a new password immediately.
I am trying to connect my D-Link router to my PC.
First, you have to directly attach to the cable modem whichever computer the instal tech used to establish your account. Make sure that connection works. Then re-insert the router and clone the MAC address of the instal computer to the router. Then check your DHCP settings. Make sure it's set to get a new IP from your new provider. You may then have to then release your IP and resubscribe.
Switched internet service providers now the router doesn't work
You might want to check the routers settings to make sure that it is not configured to use PPOE connection which is for DSl and the Broadband connection. You can find the routers address by searching google. Linksys uses 192.168.1.1. You can always try resetting the router by pushing the reset button usually found by the power plug in the back.
Lost security key
You will have to do a factory reset on the router. These is a small reset button on the back (you have to press is with a pen). Hold down the reset button while unpluging and pluging back in the router. This will reset the security settings and allow you to start over from scratch.
How to enable WAN IP in a DI-604 Router for 3 computers
"I wanna make the 2nd pc a server but it isn't accessible through the WAN ip. "
Well that explains everything. If you want to get to 192.168.0.102 from the internet, you need to tell the router where to send packets. You do this by going to the ADVANCED section and configuring Virtual Servers. For example: If you are setting up the computer at 102 as a ftp server, ftp uses port 21. The name would be FTP, private IP would be 192.168.0.102, Protocol is TCP, and the Private and Public ports would normally both be 21. Don't forget to Enable the rule.
What this does is tell the router that when ever a request comes in on port 21, it should forward it to 192.168.0.102. To access the external side of the router you need to go to 70.55.84.233 (according to the image you posted)

Im having a problum
Without being there to carefully look through the networking setup, I will speculate about this.
A simple thing to check is to see if the computer that is not seeing the net is set to DHCP, and that it properly sees the router to start with. Go through the network setup and compare it to the working computer.
Do the command for ipconfig at the system prompt. Use the /all switch to see that the IP address of the modem is displayed. You can compare this to the working computer.
Sometimes a conflict with the firewall can cause such problems.
Another suggestion is to check to see if your modem or internet service has MAC address filtering applied. Some internet services apply MAC address filtering because they want to charge a fee for each additional computer that is on their internet service.

Virtual server
I am going to speculate here... If the IP is set to what you are mentioning, it is possible to be conflicting with the DHCP range that is issued from the router.
In your router if the option to set the generated auto IP range is available, set the range to not include the auto IP to be within the range of the camera's IP. Or put the the camera IP to a value that is out of range of the auto IP from the router.
In your browser, typing the IP address of the camera should bring it up.

I cannot find the WAN
If you want a WAN you need a router, and not a HUB.
If you have a switch, and you want to work with fixed IP addresses, you can do this but it will get involved with using gateways and etc.
The easiest way is to get a router, and set everything up with DHCP.
