How do I secure my router?

Login in using your browser and go to the wireless settings and set-up a wireless password/key. Remember the key because each device will now need it to connect. You can also turn OFF Broadcast SSID and your network name will not be shown on anyone's device. You must remember the network name when using this method

My router will not turn on

Start from the beginning, is it plug into a working AC outlet?, is the plug fully into the AC jack?, wiggle the plug at the AC jack, it may be a bad AC jack connection due to damage. This may help: http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/support/product/-/media/Consumer_Products/DI/DI%20614plus/Manual/DI614ManualUS.pdf If all fails ,replace wireless device.

TI have a Dlink air

I believe the pick up signal for your internet connection should be wired, the D-Link device will create it's own local home network for you.
I don't think the D-link can connect to another network Wireless, only create it's own.

Do you need to connect to a wired or wireless 'appartement' network?

How do I reset my

1. Turn off the router

2. Locate the Reset button on the back of the router.

3. Use a paper clip to press the Reset button and power on.

4. Hold for about 5 seconds (don't hold too long) and then release. (Or, release when M1 and M2 flash at the same time.)

5. After you have completed the above steps, the router will be reset to the factory default settings

Then open up the browser and type in 192.168.0.1

It will ask you for a username(leave it blank) and password (admin).

Once you are in the router setup, you can setup a new password. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/joe_8b8c2cd6ce148309

We have a DLink DI614

You should download and read manual pages covering Using the Configuration Menu that begins on page 10. Securing your wireless is detailed starting on page 12 for WEP, page 13 for WPA (only if you have a Radius Server - most likely not) and page 14 for WPA-PSK.

Nearly all devices support the older WEP encryption method. The downside is that it is easily defeated with software in under 10 minutes. A much better, more robust method is WPA-PSK. It can not be defeated (yet). If you choose WPA-PSK, any device that you connect wirelessly to this router MUST support WPA-PSK as well, otherwise it will NOT be able to connect.

I hope this helps and good luck. Please rate my reply, thanks.

My wireless stops working when i turn on my new

It is very likely because the printer is using the same IP address as one of the pc's. If you manually entered an IP to the printer, then you should check to see none of the pcs is using the same IP.
Try restarting all the pcs after the printer gets connected.

Hello, I can not access

The factory default User name is admin and the default Password is blank (empty). It is recommended that you change the admin password for security purposes. Please refer to Tools>Admin to change the admin password.
You need to download the user manual. ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/di614+/Manual/DI-614+_manual_06292005.zip
If the password has been installed, and you cannot remember it, look for a recessed button usually located by the power input plug and press and hold it for about 10 seconds. Then pull the power out and plug back in (to restart) This action will wipe all settings back to factory. Which means you will have to setup wireless password and any ISP (Internet Service Providor) settings needed to access your service.

Updated firmware in DI-614+ has

Hello,

yes the web settings are open and wep and then your key. but note that wep is not secure at all, it takes around 10 to 20 minutes to get your networks password by being nearby your house while your surfing the network and you will never know a thing.

As a test, set it to WPA and see if the apply button starts working If not, restart your computer to make sure thats not the issue, if the issue persists reset your router, and if the problem still sticks restore factory defaults from the router or re do the update.

get back to me on how you get along with it after you have followed the above.

Thanks,
Ekse
