Sometimes the router can freeze.
You can try to restart again the router by unplug power supply and then pluggin it again.
If this is not successful you may try to restore it by the little plug called restore in the back of the router (you can reach it only with a pencil or something similar because is very little). You should plug it for only some seconds otherwise the router will go back to factory settings.

you may need to go into bios on the mother board and make sure that the lan is enabled. if it is then in the web browser settings the connnect lan wan might not be enabled go to exploye open it go to tools then to internet options then the security tab highlite internet the click on costum level then scrool to bottom and click on or check mark automatic logon with current user name and password and do same in each tab. the go to advance tab scroll down and uncheck last three and then you check mark ssl 2.0 ssl 3.0 and tsl 1.0 scrool backup to http and check mark both ove them there as well if you have further problems u may email me a [email protected]

For the router it should suffice just to cycle its power.
However, the behavior of the ISP's DHCP server may also be part of your problem. Most likely, it also will try to assign the same address as before, if still available.
So what you can try is to switch off your router and modem for a few hours (e.g. over night) and see if you get a different address.
Of course, this won't work if you have a statically assigned IP address, as this is often the case with cable modems. In this case your only chance is to contact the provider and ask them to change your IP address. You should of course be able to offer a very good explanation then...

Peer to peer tunneling protocal is what pptp is if its connecting a limited connectivity that means some of the ports are stull being blocked thus needing for you to use your machine in a demilierized zone so this will open all avilable ports to your VPN software. Also keep in mind not all ISP's will support PPTP so you may have to use a softvpn software. Si te olvidaste la clave del router, proba usando la original de fabrica del router:

password= (sin password, en blanco, solo pulsa enter)

(generalmente son (admin, password) y mira que pasa (si es que no la cambiaste)

Al resetear el router volvera a su configuracion inicial y perderas la informacion que tenia configurada. Antes de resetear podes tirar un ip config saber tus ip adresses.

Ahoras si te olvidaste la clave de acceso a tu network, podes obtenerla con cualquier aplicacion de password recovery.

please call dlink tech support at 877-453-5465. just an advise on how to handle the call when you reach dlink tech support (agent); do not agree to call back after you troubleshoot with them (they'll be giving you a case id reference# and be advising you to check your pc or call "who" and call them back to continue the troubleshooting). insist to the agent that he need to resolve the problem asap (by the way, agents are not allowed to drop the call or they'll be dead-history!). and if the agent still insisted you to call back, ask for a "senior level technician" to finish the job (escalate the problem).
fyi: dlink tech support handling time to resolve a call is 15 to 18 minutes only. if you reach that 15-18 minutes (max) time the agent will think of a way for you to call back (advising you to check with your pc manufacturer, check with your ISP, call microsoft to update your software, etc... non-sense!) they need to do this in order to reach their handling time (agents need to reach 21 to 25 billable calls, and billable calls are "solution provided", "resolved", and "dropped call"). ---- believe me, i was one of them and repented.

Try resetting the router . Press the reset button for 10 seconds and after 10 seconds unplug the power cable but continue pressing the reset button for another 30 seconds after 30 seconds plug in back the power cable and continue pressing the reset button for 10 seconds and release it after 10 seconds.

try to open an Internet browser and type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar. It should give you the DLink page. Once you have that configure your connection.

If you don't have the latest firmware for your Dlink router which is 1.43, please download it first. You may want to download the software here: http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/DLink-DIHV-Firmware-Download-20625.html

Access you router by going into 192.168.0.1, then look for the firmware upgrade option. Point the location of the .bin file that you've downloaded and that should fix your intermittent problem.

I am sure it is now toast and you cannot downgrade if the wrong firmware has been installed. I would ask D-Link.
