You need a local email client like Outlook or Thunderbird to use this option. It will not work on any web browser email like Yahoo, Gmail, and so on. Email programs can be configured with webmail accounts. So unless you have Outlook or other email program already configured, this is your starting point.

Go to a computer wired to your router
Open an internet explorer browser
Click on the address bar and type in 192.168.0.1
Type your password for the router.
Normally be default its username admin and blank for password.
Go to wireless on the left side.
Under security type in WPA-PSK
Type in a password 8 charachters or more

ON your wireless computer
Connect to your network name and put in that 8 char password.

The best way is to get a data cable and connect directly to the laptop. Your laptop should recognize the router and prompt you to make this your wireless device. Once through the setup you can unplug the cable and you should be set for wireless again. The one other thing to check is make sure the wireless button on the computer is on. Mine is on the front but I have seen them all over. Check the latter first.

to reset the password for your router hold the reset button on the back with a paperclip in for 30 seconds while powered on. This will reset the router back to factory defaults.the default password is password or 1234 for older devices.
