Can i connect new pc to old connection
You simply need to disconnect old computer from the network and connect the new one.Are you trying to connect wired computer or wireless? If you are trying to connect a wired computer then you don't need to do anything.Just take out the Ethernet cable from the old computer and connect it to the new computer. If you are connecting a wireless computer to the network then make sure that you have all the settings of your wireless router. If your wireless network is secured then you should know the correct network key. What is the operating system on your computer?I will suggest you a website "
The Router Setup " which may help you connect your new computer to the old wireless network.
Hi i am using Dlink-615
Is this for child protection? I think it is. That would be the only reason to block a website. Try this. It's great and it's FREE!
Go to this link:
http://www1.k9webprotection.com/getk9/download-software
Get
license first. Register your information and do not worry it is protected and they are non-profit and do not sell your stuff...it's safe.
They will email your
license. In the email there is a link to download the software. Be sure that the email account that you are using no one knows your password (kids) because if you forget your password and request a reset they email you the temporary reset. K9 by default will protect your internet viewing to a very high standard. You can change the permissions, add exceptions, and grant temporary access when needed. It will even bark when an unauthorized website is trying to be accessed. Better yet, it logs all internet activity and allows you to view and monitor internet activity for that PC only. You need a separate
license for every pc. If this is not what you needed, I'm sorry. Try resetting your dlink router and starting fresh.
How do i forgot my password for my Dlink Dl-524
to reset the password for your router hold the reset button on the back with a paperclip in for 30 seconds while powered on. This will reset the router back to factory defaults.the default password is password or 1234 for older devices.
I cannot set password
There are 2 users in this router, 'admin. and 'user', default password is blank. admin can change password of user without having old password, user can change his own password, admin can change password of his own by supplying his old password then new password twice. To log in to this router, default address is
http://192.168.0.1 user name admin and password blank. You may now change password from tools menu.
If you forgot user password then log in as admin and change password, If you forgot all password then only way is to reset router from rare pin hole. Pressing reset for 20 seconds.
Do I need the power cord to my D-Link router to set up my computer?
From the port marked "Wan" on the back of the D-Link, install a lan cable to the cable/dsl modem.Insert the lan cable from Dlink port labeled "1" to the PC.The Dlink, cable/DSL modem, and PC should all be powered on.I believe the router comes with a CD/DVD. Insert this into the PC to set up the router.Be sure to read through your Dlink manual for additional instructions.
Disconnecting from the network every 15 minutes
Two things you can try.Simple - just power off the unit for a minute or so then power back on. You may have already tried this.A bit more complicated - You can go to Dlinks site and see if there is a firmware upgrade for your unit (you can see if you have the latest available).
http://www.dlink.com/products/default.aspx?pid=DI-524&tab=3Select "Support Resources" in the Window on the right. If the unit was working correctly and just started with this behavior, there may the as issue with it. Note that this product has been discontinued by Dlink.
WHAT IS MY DI-524 SECURITY KEY FOR INTERNET ROUTER
When you got the router, you probably setup the key or it came with a default one. If you connect to the router via wired, and put it's ip address into your browser, you should be able to get to the interface to change it.To get the IP, once connected open command prompt and type in "ipconfig", and look for the default gateway address (Generally 192.168.1.1)
Does a D-Link DI-524 Router have User Password
Hello,
All routers can be setup to have a secuirty password. For DLINK, go to
http://192.168.0.1 and login using admin as user name and leave the password blank. Once you're in, go to the "Security" tab or option and click on WEP or WPA, select the encryption, choose a password and click save or apply.
I hope this helped you.
You can rate my answer if you appreciate my help.

Adress is 192.168.1.254
iwhant ueser and password
type in a browser your IP address (192.168.1.254) a window should pop up asking for your credentials, Unless you have changed them they should be:user: adminpassword: (blank)this is the default password for this router. If you have changed it (and forgotten it) , you can do a reset using a paper clip on the back of the unit. Note it will reset all settings back to the default setting.
