No it cannot be used as a repeater.

Usually you can login on your browser to you router and go to the management section to check for firmware updates and select that button and it will download and install the firmware. On some models, you have to go to the D-link web site and look for firmware updates for your router. Always check what you current firmware you have installed and check the version of you router modem (A, B, C etc). Then you can manually download the firmware (usually in a ZIP file), open the zip file, and then using your browser connected to the router look for Update Firmware. You will have to go to where (folder) you saved the downloaded update and select that file. It is recommended that you update using a LAN connection and not a wireless connection.

Well the fact is this happens on most routers i have a dlink router does it all the time.

The best solution ever is to go to the router and reset it with a pen or paperclip. hold it for 20 seconds turn it off then turn it back on. and it works!

But to bad its 5:07 in the morning for me, i have school tommoro[today] the router is in there bedroom.

Some Internet Service Providers limit the number of computers that connect to the modem, namely to just ONE. This limiting can be done either "inside" the cable-modem (turn it off to reset the counter to zero) or by the I.S.P. by using a unique identifier,
namely the 'MAC-address' of the network-interface (the router has one MAC-address, and your computer has a different MAC-address).

Contact your ISP, and get Technical Support from them, i.e., disconnect your computer from the modem, connect the router to the modem, and your computer to the router, and get them to "authorize" the MAC-address of the router to get Internet access.

3. Type admin in the user name field
4. Type the password you set on this device
5. Click on the Tools tab
6. Click the browse button and locate the firmware file you downloaded and saved to your hard drive.
7. Click the apply button to complete the firmware upgrade.

Do you mean firmware? Routers are network devices that don't need Windows drivers.

Reset the device to "factory" settings. Then, you can set the SSID and the password for the router.

go in the web interfae for your router.. to find it click start then run.. in there type cmd... in the new window type ipconfig... look for the line default gateway will look like 192.168.2.2... type that number in a web browser address bar ... the web interface will be on your screen.. to black a web site go in url filtering add the site address.. save the settings ..

Its a networking architecture that allows your router to auto configure with other devices that also use upnp. I normally leave this disabled. Some security vulnerabilities have been found with the protocol.

check if u can get closer to the router or if your device can see the router without any walls in between try to get closer to the router as much as possible
