My viking vdb325ss dishwasher runs for a few minutes and then stops with control pad lights blinking. The "normal cycle" and "pots and pans" lights blink together. I have reset and restarted the dis

Hello Peter! Your owners manual or a call to Viking should help you decode the blinking panel lights. They are not random and are a desperate cry for help from the machine. It has been my experience (YMMV) that a common dishwasher problem in older machines is accumulated grunge (the technical term) in the water level sensor. In many cases the sensor lives in a plastic container on the side of the DW and although the designers try hard to avoid contamination, the container eventually loads up and intermittently jams the float. Before I pulled the unit however, I'd check the bottom of the wash cabinet for contaminants. There may be an screen (under a cover plate) that has clogged. Your situation sounds a bit different, since my Samsung did not pump out water, it just stopped and flashed a code, but who knows? Go for the low-hanging, common issues first. All the best.

Viking VDW302SS--trying to pump out water that isn't there

If your machine is trying to pump out water that is not there, check the float level sensor. That is the detector that checks for water level during filling. If the pipe/mechanism is blocked, in the full position, the sensor will indicate that there is still water to be pumped out ... that is assuming the water has been pumped out otherwise look for a blockage in the outlet pipe.

2 related questions. The first is that when I pull the top rack of my Viking dishwasher out, the rack extends too far out and escapes the track on the left side (pic). Also, as soon as I open the door, the top rack starts slowly sliding out on its own. Any help would be great! Thank you.

Your dishwasher probably isn't level front to rear. As for the track problem, there could be a missing stop or some damaged hardware. The racks are supposed to be removable but not on their own.

My Viking D3 Dishwasher - at start of cycle, it sounds as if it is working. However, the timer never counts down, the detergent is never released, and little-to-no water is released into dishwasher.

Let’s assume the dishwasher is working correctly because it turns on but nothing else works. If a dishwasher does not fill with water at the correct level, it will not continue to advance. You’re not getting water. Check hot water valve under sink. The one for dishwasher. Maybe someone shut it off on accident. Also,
Water deposits like lime, calcium will build up and clog the screen on the dishwasher’s hot water intake valve.
That would need cleaned out. The valve itself will go bad alone. Regardless, once it’s getting water the dishwasher will run. Please let me know!!

My viking dishwasher vud141 washes fine but will not eject the last wash water before it starts the dry cycle. Filters are clean Whats up?

Check for bent drain hose, make sure it’s not push in to far down in to drain trap, if it’s hooked up to garbage disposal check for blockage at that connection and what u want to do is see how good of the stream comes out from the end of drain hose just get big enough backer and fill unit by start cycle then drain unit by canceling cycle will put unit into drain mode
This will give you some ideas we’re to look for problem

Viking DW DFUD 142. (DW 20.3) Lower sprayer doesn't seem to be working properly (dishes on bottom staying dirty). Upper one fine. no clogging in lower sprayer. Any suggestions as to problem?

I would expect that something may be fouling the lower arm, thus not allowing it to spin properly.
